Morning Laura and all the Spoonies 🌞
Well you are really on it with the housework today Laura. I could probably be described as more of an I’ll get to it when I can/am motivated to do it where housework is concerned, but there is nothing more motivating than knowing someone is coming to visit. Then I am like speedy Gonzales whipping the hoover around and tidying 🤣
@Apolloneuro glad you have your coffee 😃
Enjoy snuggling on your lovely new sofa Laura, you will be so comfortable now.
Hav3 a good day everyone, enjoy the milder weather while you have it 🌼🌼🥄

Hi @AdmittowearingCrocs , how are you today? Have you got any plans for the weekend? Being up so early and blitzing house is catching up with me now. Worst thing is that now I’ve hoovered everywhere I keep finding bits of fluff and crumbs . Think I’ve made it worse 😂
Just chased up sofa people as not heard from them and they said there coming between 7-8pm 😦xx

Hello lovely
Thank you for the recipe, I will give it ago (Inc the tube of paste!)
Love anything curry in this house and I'm tring to get ahead with cooking and freezing so I have some meals for 🎄
Enjoy the new sofa!

When we got our first house my mum Came round and ran her finger along the top of something to find dust....how v rude!!
I told her to pack it in 😂

Had some workmates round last night for a bit of a get together....it was a bit of a late night for us (11.30!) So feeling a bit tired today ....I'm getting old!

Hi @Munchyseeds2 , I hope you are all cosy and resting today after late night last night.
I just google from website for food recipes when I fancy something different , I started making this a few years ago. Kids love it too. I used to go to this Indian restaurant in my old village which was lovely and they had a special dish which was basically butter chicken as it was mild and I’m not into spicy food so I googled one day how to make it myself and got the recipe.
House is clean and polished but I’m not . Just seems like too much effort to put make up on when I’m going to be at home all day so I’m waiting for my mums disapproving glare. 😒
I hope you had a lovely time last night xx

@Imbluedalale my mouth is watering all week gor your butter chicken. I think I may have tried it on one of those food subscription sites. I love Indian flavours and do enjoy a kick from the spice. As you know I love ginger (had 4 cocktails today Darkn stormy) plus a ginger shot this morning. I bought spicy soap in Lush yesterday too 😂
@AdmittowearingCrocs Totally on the same page as far as cleaning goes. It's always gets done.....eventually.
Town was packed today but the best bit was getting 2 signature baubles from Merchant Hotel while having drinks. My good customer bonus! They are a rubbish baby blue but will still have a nice memory attached to the day of keeping up with the spoonies 😁

Happy Weekend my fellow Spoonies. I actually feel almost well today and I managed to get outside. My husband was the run leader for the Social Saturday run this week. All the runners and their friends or partners get together once a week for a very gentle hour's run. Afterwards they go to a cafe for something to eat and a chat. I rarely am able to go because I need wheelchair access and to be fit enough to sit upright for a couple of hours. It's so good for me, when I am able to though because being at home and often in bed 24hrs a day makes you feel very isolated. Although there's a lot of talking about running and races, I know most of the people who are there and there's other subjects we can talk about that we have in common. It's always nice to see others and it not be just so they can stick a needle in you or doing some other medical procedures.😂 I had a lovely white chocolate brownie and a latte and thoroughly enjoyed it.

@Apolloneuro What a cute cat you have. My daughter always says that she must have been a cat in a previous life. She would always jump into boxes too. We had a terrifying experience in the supermarket one time. She disappeared and we couldn't find her for ages. In the end it turned out she had got into one of those huge boxes that hold the multi packs of walkers crisps and stayed hidden there!

Apolloneuro · 30/11/2024 16:23

I’m so pleased you got out today @BeNavyCrab. The other people were happy to see you, I’m sure.

RaspberryBeretxx · 30/11/2024 20:01

Hi all! Loving the beautiful cats 😍. I've had a bad stomach today and DP has been working so DD and I have been stuck in and I've been trying to keep horizontal while she tries to ask me to do stuff! Hopefully I"ll feel a bit better and catch up tomorrow. Loving the butter chicken recipe though.

Also lovely that you got out @BeNavyCrab , that sounds lovely.

And YES!!!! to the card for your ex, @Imbluedalale . It did make me laugh that you said he's so into his image and now we're all slating him. We all know exactly what an absolute tool he is and obviously think you're the bees knees so screw him 😂.

Evening @nornironlady , I hope you’ve had a lovely afternoon with your cocktails 🍸 🍸🍸
Im not a big spice fan I only like mild, my mum made a curry and poppadoms and fetched it with her . It was lovely but very spicy , my eyes were watering and nose was streaming and my mum kept saying ‘is it too hot’ and I said ‘no it’s lovely’ 😂 bless her.
Ive had a wonderful afternoon with my mum and dad . They’ve only just left . My dad fitted some lamp shades and our daughter’s curtains up and curtains in my lounge and some pictures. I’m thrilled with how my house is coming along. I’m still waiting for my sofa though apparently their going to be here at around 10pm as they was stuck in traffic on the motorway. But at least it’s coming.
Me and my mum were in the kitchen and she turned around and said to me that she’s so so proud of me and this last week she’s seen a real difference in me and I’ve come on in leaps and bowns . It brought a tear to my eye .
I can’t wait to see your baubles xx

Evening everyone!

That’s a lovely comment from your mum Laura, how wonderful. I’m glad you’ve had a good day. Fingers crossed it’s not too much longer to wait for the sofa. Oh and that card really made me laugh!

@BeNavyCrab how great that you got out for a coffee and a chat.

I'm watching Strictly on catch up and doing some Christmas shopping. December tomorrow and I’m so not ready. 😱

ChoccieCornflake · 30/11/2024 22:15

Hello lovely spoonies!

@Imbluedalale - I'm so sorry about the melanoma, what an absolute bummer. Hopefully they will be able to get it gone ASAP though. I'm in awe of you being so strong - you are one superstrong woman!

Like everyone has said above, scars tell a story and are to be cherished and admired! I had my gallbladder out years ago, and have a pair of raised white "X marks the spot" type scars. They amuse me as they are so stereotypical!

@Apolloneuro - sorry to hear about the infection and gallstones. I hope they can fix them too.

@BeNavyCrab blutak comes in more than one colour?!!!!

Evening @Meanwhile33 , how’s your day been? Good I hope. Sofa has finally arrived yayyyy. It’s huge and lovely . I’m just sorting the 500 cushions that it came with.
I’ve had such a lovely unexpected day, my dad has been laughing at me all day because he asked if I got the front door lock fixed and I said ‘yes the man put some wkd on it’ he asked what I meant and I said ‘you know that oil stuff’ and then he realised I meant WK40 😂
My mum also wants me to put a tree up this year so my sister has loaned me one from her spare living room so I’m going to put that up next week. Also my mum and dad have plans Christmas Day which I already knew about but my mum said they are coming early Boxing Day morning to make me a Christmas dinner so I’m really looking forward to that xx

Hi @ChoccieCornflake , how are you this evening? Let’s get the important stuff out of the way first ….what perfume are you wearing today?
I’m just trying to be positive about the cancer, I want to be positive this time and I’ve got nobody putting me down so what will be will be and whatever comes my way I will deal with.
Your scars sound adorable @ChoccieCornflake
I’ll post a pic of my main scar on my leg but be warned I hadn’t shaved as was in hospital at the time and it’s pretty gruesome. Never in a million years would I have shown anyone this a few months ago or even last month but you’ve all been so supportive and made me see that they’re just scars and they don’t define me. I have bad ones near my bikini line too where they took my lymph nodes but I stopped showing my bikini line years ago so I won’t be getting that out again 😂xx

What is it they say @Imbluedalale - Scars are tattoos with better stories? I've also heard that they are a sign of strength - a sign that you made it through, which you have. Oh, and I've also heard that a warrior is defined by his scars, not his medals. Those scars are a part of you now and just show how brave and strong you have been - and still are! ❤

AdmittowearingCrocs · 30/11/2024 23:43

Hi Laura, so glad you have your sofa now and you can be all comfortable.
Your scars tell the story of your life so don’t worry about them. I have very fragile skin that tears if it is knocked and I have lots of scars all over my arms. I wore a sleeveless dress to my daughter’s wedding in July as I have got to point where I no longer care what others think. With age comes a don’t give a dam attitude lol
It’s other peoples problem, not mine. 👀🌞
