Dh has walked off and left me alone at 1am in the street. 2 miles from home

Just that really. We were out with friends, going back to theirs. Dh refused to back to theirs but I don't know why. The others left in a cab. I couldn't leave dh alone in the pub. I I said I'm going home. He said OK. Followed me out in a fit and angry, cos he felt obliged to follow me. He's walked home. I'm 2 miles away from homre and sitting in the cold shivering
He messaged me to ask if I got an uber home. I said no, he said good we've spent £x on uber tonight.

He's walked home and I'm sitting on the kerb, 2 miles away in the dark, cold.

@SwerveCity
He didn't leave her, she chose to sit on the kerb in some weird manipulative behaviour, this is not on the man for a change.

But he did leave though and he shouldn’t have.

@Technonan I'm mortified that this thread has got so many posts. I only expected a few.

I've woken up with a v sore head. Not spoken to DH yet who is still in bed.

You certainly kept the insomniacs amongst us going, OP. Hope you’re feeling a bit better this morning.

In future, Uber is your friend.

SnoopysHoose · 16/11/2024 10:46

@SwerveCity
OP was free to walk with him/call a taxi but choose to behave like a petulant child. I think most of us would have left her, she sounds a right pain in the arse.

Is that what you tell your kids to do to a mate?

Too much booze and losing your temper? Most of us have been there. I'm glad you're safe.

Why would she tell them? They’re 15.

He walked home. He said he didn’t want the OP to walk with him, but there was absolutely nothing stopping her walking home five feet behind him if she didn’t want to get a taxi by herself.

At least it wasn't on Facebook where everyone really knows you.

Everyone gets emotional when they've had a drink.
I would make it clear that it wasn't acceptable to leave you. Yes you can get home by yourself but it's still a bit shit.

Oh ffs seriously?? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Have a bacon sarnie and a glass of Coke OP! Followed by 2 paracetamol. The best hangover cure 😂

Glad you got home safe.

Hope you get to have a calm and open discussion with your partner later when you’re both feeling a bit better.

I wouldn't tell my dc to place themselves at this apparent risk of sitting outside at fuck o'clock of night while a mate who had already told them to go away stropped and sulked on the kerb!
In that case I'd tell them to call the stroppy ones parents as they're clearly not mature enough to be out on their own.
You'd honestly tell your child to pander to this attention seeking nonsense?

Is this a reverse? Are you the kerb?

CurlewKate · 16/11/2024 11:10

@DoreenonTill8 "You'd honestly tell your child to pander to this attention seeking nonsense?"

No. I'd tell my child that he/she never had to see the idiot again, and they had a perfect right to be utterly furious. But you don't ever leave a person in a vulnerable position.

My kids’ mates aren’t such idiots, @CurlewKate . They don’t reject assistance and insist they don’t want to be walked home after all because they need to sulk at the side of the road. Also they are young.

OP did this to herself. She, a grown up, middle aged woman, actively chose it in a drunken fit of martyrdom, having not gone with her friends nor walked with her husband.

There’s no helping some people.

After a nice fry up, some Rennies and paracetamol, all’s well that ends well.

AttendanceNightmares · 16/11/2024 11:18

In the time you were sat shivering in the cold you could have walked home or got a taxi. You are just trying to make him feel bad by pretending to be helpless which is pointless as he clearly doesn't care anyway. Also you could have left him in the pub. He's an adult as are you. He didn't leave you shivering in the cold you chose to. Don't let him drag you into silly games.

Snoopybird · 16/11/2024 11:19

You’re not a lost puppy, why on earth were you shivering on the kerb?! 2 miles is not far, you could have walked home easily in just over 30minutes. Or just got a taxi. Talk about unnecessary drama!

mrpotatocat · 16/11/2024 11:22

How much is 2 miles in km…around 3!?

AttendanceNightmares · 16/11/2024 11:24

Boopadoop90 · 16/11/2024 01:10

I'm now sleeping the night on the kurb
He can see my location my clearly doesn't care

You're sleeping the night on the kerb when you have a home to go to?

A half hour walk or 5 min in a taxi!
