Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

Reidal · 07/11/2024 17:50

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

I’m a perfectly respectable middle aged married mother of two and I’ve done this twice. Once with a boyfriend in 2008 when I was 19 and once with a FWB in 2012 when I was 23. I’m so very glad I did it when I was hot and free and life was easy.

Bloody good fun and no one got hurt.

If you were 19 in 2008, you can only be around 35. That's hardly middle aged, we don't live to 70, we live to around 90.

Come back in ten years and then you can say you're middle aged 😜

LurkingFromTheShadows · 07/11/2024 21:43

Id ignore it and carry on with my life. At the end of the day, regardless what your personal thoughts are, it's not hurting anyone.

FennelFan · 07/11/2024 21:44

Don't be the person that reports stuff like that. They've not done any harm have they?

Cheepcheepcheep · 07/11/2024 21:59

@fanaticalfairy @Berlinlover fair enough. Feel middle aged at 35 with lots of wiry grey hairs, a mum pouch and no energy but always good to know the best is yet to come 🤣

I will not be living to 90 at this rate 😂

HarkALark · 07/11/2024 22:31

Honestly, unless he finished up on your desk I cannot see why you would give a shiny shit about this.

Cherry8809 · 07/11/2024 23:09

They’re your “friends” but you want to rat on them to management…?

Who needs enemies, right?

Just stop this Karen shit.

Please don't use that horrible ageist, misogynistic term. Be better than that.

get a grip Brenda.

you lot on here tonight 🤣🤣🤣

Createausername1970 · 08/11/2024 00:25

It's a story as old as time!

Of course it happens at work. Especially if one or other (or both) has a partner at home.

Itsnotyouitsmeiswear · 08/11/2024 00:32

Let them get on with it

SpiggingBelgium · 08/11/2024 00:48

It's a story as old as time!

🎶 “Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme,
Bonking on the desk!

Ever just the same; never a surprise,
It’s all been done before, even on the floor -
it’s how I earned my rise…” 🎶

BruceAndNosh · 08/11/2024 05:25

Isn't that what stationery cupboards are for? 😁

Tomatina · 08/11/2024 07:09

No to reporting it. None of your business, you're not the morality police.

TwistedWonder · 08/11/2024 07:19

Report it??Oh ffs get a grip it’s absolutely none of your business and it’s the sort of thing thats gone on since the dawn of time in workplaces.

Wherethewildthingsfart · 08/11/2024 07:27

Why would you want to report it? You have no idea if it’s true.

People will find out soon enough if your friend is being a gossip.

Thatdontimpressmemuchh · 08/11/2024 07:44

Do you really want to cut off both of your friends' incomes, leaving them unemployed and in financial hardship? In the midst of a cost of living crisis and with Christmas around the corner? For the sake of a short-lived sense of righteousness? Who on earth are they hurting exactly? Some friend you are to both of them, keep your beak out, this does not concern you at all.

If I was your manager and you took it upon yourself to relay this information to me, I'd think you were a trouble maker, two-faced considering your apparent friendship with both of them and someone I would deem untrustworthy.

yipyipyop · 08/11/2024 08:07

Don't be a vindictive grass. If these people are your friends why would you even think of reporting them?

MagicalAnimal · 08/11/2024 08:12

Of course it's inappropriate. But do you want your friends to be fired? Would that make you feel good? Just think about what the outcome would be if you report this.

ginasevern · 08/11/2024 10:51

So long as your desk wasn't splattered with jizz, I don't see the problem.

Loub1987 · 08/11/2024 10:55

Unless this is a massive drip feed and you work in a children’s home or hospital, I can’t see why you would care.

But yea report it, alert the church elders.

OMGitsnotgood · 08/11/2024 11:11

It is massively inappropriate but they won't be the first and won't be the last. If you really are friends with them, have a quiet word. Suspect the fact that he is telling people might bring a sharp end to the relationship.

This would have been a sackable offence in my workplace (people still did it tho, pre CCTV!). Would you want that on your conscience?

KimberleyClark · 08/11/2024 11:20

I remember at one place I worked many years ago, a condom wrapper and a Femfresh wrapper were noticed in one of the bins first thing on a Monday morning….

Mylovelylittlepetbedbug · 08/11/2024 11:34

As long as they don't use my desk when I'm actually trying to work ( that's a bit distracting ) it's fine. Do you think it really happened though ? Perhaps they are telling all their " friends" to see who reports it !

Nomorechipsforme · 09/11/2024 09:45

ginasevern, like this comment, if I was OP I would be sanitising my desk not rubbing my hands over it to check 😂🤣🤣🤣
