Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

Reidal · 07/11/2024 17:50

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

Don't get involved.

FloatyBoaty · 07/11/2024 19:04

Also- nobody, absolutely nobody, senior will thank you for landing them with this, if they feel pressured to take action. Not HR, not management, nobody.

So at best you’ve told them something they don’t care about.

At worst you’ve landed 2 colleagues in the shit for something arguably nobody will REALLY care about, generated a tonne of work for senior colleagues that nobody wants to have to deal with, and made yourself look like a jealous/ jobsworth/ naive arse.

MSLRT · 07/11/2024 19:04

Stop being such an interfering old bag. It really is none of your business.

InSpainTheRain · 07/11/2024 19:05

It's a bit grim and certainly not appropriate. However, I wouldn't report this. If anyone asks I'd ask I heard the gossip but wasn't sure. I'd ignore it completely.

chocolatenutcase · 07/11/2024 19:08

Hope there's not CCTV in the office Shock

ChristmasCwtch · 07/11/2024 19:10

LBFseBrom · 07/11/2024 19:10

Don't be a grass, nobody has died.

The guy should not have told anyone, sexual exploits are best kept private. I get that I wouldn't have been very private had they been caught at it but that didn't happen.

It was a stupid and unprofessional thing to do but illustrates how booze can cause all caution to be thrown to the wind.

Have word with the guy who blabbed and tell him he should have kept his mouth shut, it wasn't fair to the girl for a start, and ask the man he told not to spread it. It might be too late of course.

However please do not report to management, that would be really mean.

Kind of hot 🤷🏽‍♀️

Don’t be jealous now!

Where was the last exciting place you had sex @Reidal … and the guest bedroom doesn’t count 😂😂😂

😆
Agreed..it does sound a teeny bit jealous.

No way would I be reporting that they had sex in the office- lucky them!

HumptySaucer · 07/11/2024 19:14

Wonder if they are caught on video …. Happened at my office years ago, could see thru frosted glass the figures doing what they did … and the swipes in and out and walking down hall etc.

Iwashopingnottobreakmyduck · 07/11/2024 19:14

DoYouReally · 07/11/2024 18:00

If you reported it to me, I would just tell you it's hearsay and gossip.

No proof, nothing anyone can do about it.

Not something I would do and wouldn't be overly impressed with anyone who does but all you have here is gossip.

I would want to know someone I had sex with was telling everyone. I once worked in a school where two teachers had sex one evening caught on cctv both dismissed. Both were single and it was 9pm after a parents evening but that’s the risk you take.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 07/11/2024 19:14

What's inappropriate is him telling people about it.

''Swipes in and out'' 🤣 through the frosted glass..

Namechangefordaughterevasion · 07/11/2024 19:15

This has been going on ever since men and women worked together in offices... or shops... or ships...or hotels...or schools or anywhere really. They were silly to tell you about it but now they have you should keep it to yourself.

SpiggingBelgium · 07/11/2024 19:16

Barney16 · 07/11/2024 18:50

Unfortunate if your offices have CCTV. Like what's his face, Matt Hancock, in the pandemic.

Only if the OP (or someone else) reports them. Most CCTV is never checked.

WHY sack them?

It wasn't like they were caught in flagrante by a pupil, surely?

MsCactus · 07/11/2024 19:18

You should absolutely not report it

Apart from being a killjoy you have no actual evidence that this even happened

DemonicCaveMaggot · 07/11/2024 19:18

Two colleagues had sex in the Customer Service Department.

They were both fired immediately.

That was in California but I would imagine it wouldn't be so different in the UK.

Maybe let your friend know that she needs to tell her paramour to keep his mouth shut.

HRTQueen · 07/11/2024 19:18

Why do you care

I had sex at work a few times I was young, in lust and well I know I wasn’t the only one

it was hot both times, no one around well why not loads of people have

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 07/11/2024 19:18

Well a child was conceived in the prayer room at my work back in the day...

oakleaffy · 07/11/2024 19:19

Nomorechipsforme · 07/11/2024 18:44

I wouldn't say anything, but I would hope they didn't do it on your desk or the boardroom table if I had to sit at it. I bet there will be some Siemens jokes going around 😆

🤣🎯🧻🧻🧻🧻

sheptuha · 07/11/2024 19:19

What I find more shocking here is how naive ADULTS can be to think this sort of stuff doesn’t happen regularly just about… everywhere? Wait til you find out what doctors/nurses get up to in hospitals. 😅

IlooklikeNigella · 07/11/2024 19:22

You sound like fun.

batsandeggs · 07/11/2024 19:22

Start from the end - what do you want the outcome to be? Disciplinary action? Because that’s what will happen. If you’re content with that then go ahead. Personally, I’d keep my head down and my nose out because honestly, who cares.

ThatsNotMyTeen · 07/11/2024 19:25

I’d dob them in, that is fucking grim behaviour rutting in the workplace. Blurgh. They deserve to be sacked for that. How old are they, 17 that they can’t wait till they get home?

Vergus · 07/11/2024 19:28

You’re not their friend though are you. People like you are nothing short of vindictive - don’t pretend you give a shit about them because all you’re interested in is scuttling away to stab them in the back. So glad I don’t work with you - I do actually work with a colleague like you so I make sure she knows absolutely fuck all about me.

Oh and get a life
