Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

Reidal · 07/11/2024 17:50

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

I'm an office manager and if I was told 2 people in a relationship had sex in my office...I think I'd just laugh, say how outrageous and then and get on with my day.
I wouldn't report it to anyone as such, especially if it was a one off got carried away type thing.

I'd just hope they didn't make a mess. Grin
Although I imagine I'd think of it every time I passed the area it happened in!

5128gap · 07/11/2024 18:01

I'm not sure 'unprofessional' is the word I'd use. If they'd kept colleagues waiting to start a meeting, or there had been clients present, or they'd jammed the shredder with a condom and left it for someone else to fish out with scissors, then absolutely. But given it had no impact on anyone else or the running of the business and was in their own time..? What is unprofessional is for them to tell everyone and for you and your friends to be gossiping about it.

YellowAsteroid · 07/11/2024 18:01

You can't report hearsay. You'll just come across as a bit bitchy & stirring up trouble in the office.

Pootles34 · 07/11/2024 18:01

I might warn her that he's a bit gobby however...

He may have been showing off so it may not be true.......

JollyPinkFox · 07/11/2024 18:02

Don't think i'd report it but I would tell the biggest workplace gossips so the news travelled up, that's gross

WickedlyCharmed · 07/11/2024 18:02

I would let her know that her boyfriend is bragging about shagging her in the office.

It's all fun and games until it has a detrimental affect on one of their careers, and if that does happen I'll guarantee it'll be hers and not his.

Jazzabel · 07/11/2024 18:04

No! Don’t be a snitch!

Please don't use that horrible ageist, misogynistic term. Be better than that.

fanaticalfairy · 07/11/2024 18:06

Unless you walked in on them during working hours, you have no evidence apart from "he said this when he was drunk" ... You don't even know if it's true.

Itisjustmyopinion · 07/11/2024 18:07

Why would you report it? It’s not as if they were doing it when other people were around or when they were supposed to be working

You are very naive OP if you think things like this don’t go on

Oh and give it a month and we will be right in the middle of office Christmas shenanigans

OliviaRodrighost · 07/11/2024 18:09

Oh my God, I’d be worried that sweaty ballsacks and heaven knows what else had been all over the desks 🤢

But I wouldn’t report gossip. Just bring some anti-bacterial wipes in 😂

Sia8899 · 07/11/2024 18:10

I wouldn’t report but it’s inappropriate and potentially unhygienic depending on where they did it. Although I’d probably be more worried about the awkwardness when they break up

Coconutter24 · 07/11/2024 18:10

It’s inappropriate but it’s non of your business and hasn’t caused any issues to the business so stay out of it. What sort of friend would want to report a couple of friends like that?

Unicorntearsofgin · 07/11/2024 18:11

Why would you want to report it? Its a stupid thing to do but trying to get them in trouble is so vindictive.

Pottedpalm · 07/11/2024 18:11

Surely they would just deny it? Do you have proof?

Waitingforfriday75 · 07/11/2024 18:12

YABU. Good for them! Not inappropriate at all.

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 07/11/2024 18:13

If there was "fluids" or suspicious stains on YOUR desk/chair then defo report 😂😅

Just stop this Karen shit.

LookItsMeAgain · 07/11/2024 18:16

All I’d do is say to the person who shared this nugget that you hope they did that before the cleaners did their rounds as you wouldn’t want to discover anything unexpected on a desk or elsewhere.

Grepes · 07/11/2024 18:16

Isn’t that half the fun of an office affair? Don’t worry, I’m sure the cleaners come in first thing.

sweetpickle2 · 07/11/2024 18:17

Get a life OP.

Eyesopenwideawake · 07/11/2024 18:17

Ah, shagging in the office. Happy memories.... 😋
