Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

It's really common, the security guards in my old office had some tales to tell...

Iamnotalemming · 07/11/2024 20:06

It's grim but bloody hell don't report it, what for? How does it affect you?

295bkq · 07/11/2024 20:06

You would report 2 of your friends for having sex when they are in a relationship and neither are married? That’s cold op.

LetsRedecorate · 07/11/2024 20:07

In my industry they would both be sacked and face hefty fines (as it affects the general publics opinion of the profession). And if there’s an imbalance of power between your colleagues it will open a massive can of worms. If he’s talking about it, it will soon be general knowledge,

You will look like a vindictive gossip if you reported hearsay and if it wasn’t proven you’d then potentially face dismissal for slander.

But I do agree to mention to your friend that he’s been boasting about it.

You should tell your friend so she knows her boyfriend is gossiping about their sex life with other colleagues.

This!! Tell her what he’s said. But don’t tell anyone else.

stargazerlil · 07/11/2024 20:24

unless you found their love juices on yer desk, I’d leave it alone. Smacks of jealousy

Cheepcheepcheep · 07/11/2024 20:32

I’m a perfectly respectable middle aged married mother of two and I’ve done this twice. Once with a boyfriend in 2008 when I was 19 and once with a FWB in 2012 when I was 23. I’m so very glad I did it when I was hot and free and life was easy.

Bloody good fun and no one got hurt.

I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.

You do your very best to get your friends fired.

What do you do to your enemies?

Erm sorry, no. As someone the same age, we are not middle aged!!!!

Elizo · 07/11/2024 20:43

Don’t report - none of your business. But I would mention to her that he is telling people. Twatish thing to do

JudyKing · 07/11/2024 20:49

I wouldn’t say anything and just hope it wasn’t on my desk 😂😂

LadyGabriella · 07/11/2024 20:51

Not your place to say anything. Don’t.

mindutopia · 07/11/2024 20:52

It happens much more often than you think. As long as it wasn’t on your desk, I would laugh and think it was embarrassing but hilarious.

In my old office, we shared a building with several floors of NHS clinical space (a travel clinic, a dental hospital, an infectious disease unit, few other things, not publicly accessible but accessible to anyone who got past reception because they had an appointment). They had to install locks on the loo doors that could only be opened with a code because we were catching so many random people in the loos shagging! 😂 Can you imagine coming in to get your travel vaccines to go on holiday or to get a root canal and not even being able to make it home and having to go at it in an office toilet stall?! Like it wasn’t just once, not just one weird horny couple, but like people randomly did this so regularly we needed to change our security approach in the building. Grim but people are evidently into it!

Aligirlbear · 07/11/2024 20:53

Unless you actually witnessed them in the act all you have is hearsay and gossip - no proof. If it did happen and one of them is stupid enough to tell others it will soon resolve itself.

Evaka · 07/11/2024 20:57

I'm kinda mortified for you wanting to squeal on your friends having a sneaky shag. If you do report them, post the email here so I can have a lol.

Guavafish1 · 07/11/2024 20:58

IceSkates · 07/11/2024 21:28

It’s a bit grim for sure, but I’m not sure why you think you need to report it?

What good will come from that?

It’s gossip at the end of the day.

ToysRus56 · 07/11/2024 21:32

With all the crap goings on in the world, I think it's great! Good for them! Would never occur to me to 'tell on them'. Interested to understand why that's your first instinct.

Ladyluckinred · 07/11/2024 21:33

Oh god! It’s not a safeguarding issue or doing anyone else harm. Are there no cameras in your office?
