Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

Reidal · 07/11/2024 17:50

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

People have been having sex in their offices for many many years. What does it matter so long as they aren't leaving a damp patch on the papers on your desk or shagging in full sight of other people ? I can't believe thst anyone would seriously consider reporting something like this. 😆😆

Wife2b · 07/11/2024 18:43

Oh don’t be such a kill joy. Don’t be THAT person. It’s a bit of fun and no harm come to anyone. Who cares.

AhBiscuits · 07/11/2024 18:44

Why on earth would you do that?

Nomorechipsforme · 07/11/2024 18:44

I wouldn't say anything, but I would hope they didn't do it on your desk or the boardroom table if I had to sit at it. I bet there will be some Siemens jokes going around 😆

ginasevern · 07/11/2024 18:44

Blimey, you should have been around in the 1980's OP. There was a lot of boozing and banging going on in offices then, and that was during working hours. You'd have spent your life in the manager's office reporting people. Lol.

DanielaDressen · 07/11/2024 18:45

Zero point apart from for shit stirring. They’d just deny it and say it was drunken bollocks talk. Or accuse the other person or you of totally making it up.

AutumnLeaves24 · 07/11/2024 18:46

The 80's & 90's were much more fun!!!🤪🤪

early 2000's we weren't yet used to cameras being everywhere. At a conference in Spain a bloke & I took advantage of an empty conference room. Next morning, much teasing about being understandable if I was tired, needing a good breakfast & that the cameras had already earned their cost.

soooo embarassed at the time, but I had a decent body at the time and we'd had a very good time. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

id want to hide for the rest of my life if it happened now.

.

Yuck but not a school nor some sort of public facility like a library I take it? Weirder that they told you really, what on earth did they think you'd say?

Is your life that small that you would even consider reporting it?

Pebbles16 · 07/11/2024 18:49

Yes, it's disgusting but have seen it so many times. I became very selective where I sat in the building

Natsku · 07/11/2024 18:49

Don't report it, they weren't hurting anyone. But tell her that he's bragging about it, so she has a heads up in case the gossip spreads.

Barney16 · 07/11/2024 18:50

Unfortunate if your offices have CCTV. Like what's his face, Matt Hancock, in the pandemic.

potatocakesinprogress · 07/11/2024 18:52

Really common, not something you'd report (unless you're also the kind of person with a checklist commenting the sugar is a bit low, in which case put it under category C, subsection 2).

Still happens now, can only assume OP is very sheltered.

Pinkruler · 07/11/2024 18:54

I think it sounds ok, so long as they tidy up everything after.

Tink3rbell30 · 07/11/2024 18:56

Yes that's gross

PinkyFlamingo · 07/11/2024 18:56

Why do you want to report them?

FloatyBoaty · 07/11/2024 18:57

You sound like a LOVELY friend OP

Moveoverdarlin · 07/11/2024 18:57

Fair play to them I say. This is what you do when you’re young. I miss the days of high jinx like this. I had sex at my work place, I just look back and laugh at how carefree and fun my life was.

Now my life is very dull and boring.

You will come across as boring, jealous and bitter if you report them.

BobbyBiscuits · 07/11/2024 18:57

Two colleagues who were dating and presumably not cheating on their (other?) partners, they had a fumble back at the office when it was closed.
It's not great but you've no proof it's even true and there's really no need to rock the boat on such things. People date their colleagues all the time. I don't think shagging in the office is particularly cool but without CCTV I don't see how you could prove it.
Do you want them formally disciplined? Dismissed? It won't help you either way I'd imagine.

OnlyHope33 · 07/11/2024 18:58

You are not their friends, friends wouldn't dream about reporting risqué behaviour to management and potentially putting them out of their jobs. If you find it inappropriate why don't you have a conversation with them.

SaveMeFromMyBoobs · 07/11/2024 18:59

So what - you report, say they had sex and they deny it and you never saw it ... so what are you wanting out of this? Your friend in trouble?

ClytemnestraWasMisunderstood · 07/11/2024 18:59

What outcome would you like your tale-telling to achieve @Reidal

HammeredMetallic · 07/11/2024 18:59

It depends if your “office” is the school library or something different

K0OLA1D · 07/11/2024 18:59

Where do I sign up to be your friend? You sound ace...
