Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

Anywhere I've ever worked this has been Gross Professional Misconduct and you'd get dismissed.

However the wrong person (senior management or HR) has to catch them at it. I doubt someone else telling tales would have much influence and in any case, who would want to be That Person?

HollyKnight · 07/11/2024 18:17

I wouldn't report it. There is no proof this happened. However, I would tell the woman that her boyfriend is spreading it about that they had sex in the office.

I work in a library , it has a pillar in it with a desk nearby .
It has footprints on like someone has used it as a brace towards the desk . This is in a staff only area . I can only imagine .

@Eyesopenwideawake I couldn't agree more Grin

We never told anyone though!

Maria1979 · 07/11/2024 18:20

Does it really matter? As long as they clean up their mess and don't do it infront of anyone I wouldn't care. How does it impact your life OP? It doesn't, so leave it.

Dweetfidilove · 07/11/2024 18:20

You know what is unreasonable? A man with a leaky mouth. No-one needed to know 😔.

NewGreenDuck · 07/11/2024 18:20

This happened where I used to work. A married man and a soon to be married woman. Unfortunately, they were caught in flagrante delicto by another colleague who had left the office but returned to collect something.
Very embarrassing for all concerned. I hope that doesn't happen to these two.

AgathaX · 07/11/2024 18:21

I can't see why you'd need to report it.

SlashBeef · 07/11/2024 18:22

Report it?! It's giving telltale vibes. Get a grip.

HollyIvie · 07/11/2024 18:22

I would have a quiet word with my friend about the 'gobby' bloke but I wouldn't report it. Why would you get involved!!?

WhatDaHell · 07/11/2024 18:22

Just stay out of it

Willsnbills · 07/11/2024 18:23

Yeah two people were actually caught in my workplace 😅😂😂 surprisingly enough they still work there!

GivingitToGod · 07/11/2024 18:24

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/11/2024 17:54

YABU. Why would you feel the need to report that? What would it achieve?

Exactly. Let it go OP. Not nice that the guy spread the news of it

TheSmallAssassin · 07/11/2024 18:24

Who are you going to report it to? What are you going to say? Play it through in your mind, what do you think would actually happen once you'd said it?

loulouljh · 07/11/2024 18:24

It's not right...but report it? No.

afishcalledvanda · 07/11/2024 18:25

This is pretty common in some workplaces,
Why on earth would you 'report'?? 🙄

DemonicCaveMaggot · 07/11/2024 18:25

I wouldn't report it. I'd ask him whose desk or chair they used though because if it was yours you may want to disinfect it.

Mozzarellaballs · 07/11/2024 18:25

Why though? It really doesn't affect you unless some juices went onto your keyboard. Are you jealous or do you fancy the guy? I'm jealous, I've always wanted to be sneaky at work like this!

Blueblell · 07/11/2024 18:25

Not if she is your friend no!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 07/11/2024 18:26

It’s inappropriate but if no one else was there to see it and they didn’t do it on your desk or anything I don’t really understand why you would report it as it hasn’t effected you in any ways? It also may just be gossip and even if you report it to HR they may just deny it, without any evidence I can’t see much coming from it but it might damage your work relationships.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 07/11/2024 18:26

It was a bit of fun! Defo not a reportable issue.

DemonicCaveMaggot · 07/11/2024 18:26

Mozzarellaballs With one of your work colleagues? Or would you bring someone in for the occasion?

mitogoshigg · 07/11/2024 18:26

It's inappropriate but hardly shocking. I'm sure many people have. 2 consenting adults and nobody around, don't report

OchAyeTheN00 · 07/11/2024 18:26

Yes it’s inappropriate. No, do not report it.
