Colleagues having sex in the office out of hours

Reidal · 07/11/2024 17:50

2 of my colleagues have been dating for a few months, I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well.
Yesterday after work a lot of us went to the pub, the CEO was covering the tab so everyone was a bit tipsy.
Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend). That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.

AIBU to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?

I'd casually mention things going nissing in the office and askjng security to check cctv footage. Every office has security cameras, they were bloody stupid to have provided a free sex show for the IT guys to upload on the internet. .......

PrettyPickle · 07/11/2024 18:28

It won't end well if you do and the more they do it, the more chance of being caught and that is their problem and not yours.

I'd button it!

Uricon2 · 07/11/2024 18:28

"I’d say they are friends of mine and we get on well."

This isn't true is it, otherwise you wouldn't be thinking about reporting them, would you? (If this is even real)

TooBigForMyBoots · 07/11/2024 18:29

This is the kind of thing that happen when people watch Jilly Cooper adaptations. See also the 80's.🙄

Nikitaspearlearring · 07/11/2024 18:29

Report it? Don't be silly. An inward snigger and own business minded.

Fuckitydoodah · 07/11/2024 18:29

I'd just be jealous that I'm old and married and office shagging isn't on the agenda for me 😁

No way I'd report it, though.

Rosscameasdoody · 07/11/2024 18:29

If they’re friends of yours and you get on well, reporting them will soon put an end to that. Mind your own business. It may be inappropriate but it’s nothing to do with you.

Ketzele · 07/11/2024 18:30

I used to be a Whitehall civil servant and one christmas party two of my colleagues were caught shagging on the Minister's desk. THAT got around fast.

It is inappropriate but no, I don't think you should report it or spread the gossip.

JollyPinkFox · 07/11/2024 18:02

Don't think i'd report it but I would tell the biggest workplace gossips so the news travelled up, that's gross

@JollyPinkFox

what a way to treat friends!!

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/11/2024 18:31

It’s a bit grim but no way would I report it. And if they are indeed friends of yours then neither will you. Sanctimonious, much?

Hardtobepositivesometimes · 07/11/2024 18:31

Well I think you should be giving the woman colleague the heads up that he is going round talking about their sex life to his mates. I think him doing that is more disgusting than the sex in the office - that just sounds tawdry.

MamaorBruh · 07/11/2024 18:32

No you shouldn't report it - for what benefit?!
I think it's funny, probably wanted to spice up their sex life. No one caught them and as long as there wasn't used condoms or pools of jizz all over the place, then why do you even care?!

EVERY office.

You're quite sure about that????

AmpleOlive · 07/11/2024 18:34

It’s grim, yes. But do you want to be that person who puts two people out of work for expressing their passion (albeit in the wrong place)?

Snitches get stitches. Don’t do it.

SpiggingBelgium · 07/11/2024 18:34

Why would you be such a mealy-mouthed, po-faced overgrown prefect about this?

Was one of them a minister?
Or both????

The mind boggles (although I now have a mental image of Matt Hancock I wish I didn't)

ginasevern · 07/11/2024 18:38

Unless you work in a sterile environment (like an operating theatre) or for some reason it's extremely dangerous to have sex at your workplace, I really can't see why it concerns you. It was out of hours, they've been dating, they were tipsy. Me and my future DH actually did the deed in the office one Christmas under similar circumstances. We were married for 26 years. Are you by any chance jealous?

betterangels · 07/11/2024 18:38

ALunchbox · 07/11/2024 17:55

Out of hours so presumably noone around? It wouldn't bother me.

Nah, I couldn't find it in myself to care. It happens a lot more than people think. No one was there. The guy should have kept his mouth shut.

Hyperbowl · 07/11/2024 18:38

You’re going to report someone that you yourself term as a friend? You don’t even know if it’s true but you’d risk bringing embarrassment and shame falsely to a female friend regardless and without proof that’s as good as bullying. They haven’t covered themselves in glory by any stretch if it’s true but you should be absolutely ashamed that you’d treat your friends so poorly. I have nothing but contempt for lack of loyalty from people who call themselves a friend. What exactly do you gain apart from being covered in shit by brown-nosing your superiors bum holes? They won’t respect you any more for it by the way, they will just have your card marked that you’re a gossip and untrustworthy. Would you then feign horror to their faces when they told you someone had reported them? Utter slime.

PissTest · 07/11/2024 18:39

Was this me, 20 years ago? I remember a fax
Machine chiming in?
Now married, you'll find me on the elderly parents board, AIBU that DH doesn't care and DD has been a complete bitch during uni reading week.
Please report me, then I can dodge all the family crap and live a single, central London life.chist, I have paid a price for that shag.

Threelittleduck · 07/11/2024 18:39

Oh god! I did that in my 20s. We weren't actually dating just FWB and we did it at work once.
Neither of us ever told anyone else and I would have been furious if he'd told other people at work.
I wouldn't report (because I'm not a hypocrite) but I would tell her that he's sharing their sex life with the rest of the office.

Yes, I agree; no friend would run to HR about friends shagging.

Livinginaclock · 07/11/2024 18:41

People who are dating had sex when no one else was there,
I can't see the problem.
If they were having sex on your desk whilst you were working you might have a point.
