Hi @Imbluedalale ! Thanks so much for asking about me, I do appreciate it. I think @RaspberryBeretxx asked about me the other day too which is so sweet and again appreciated.

Busy day with work, and had first counselling session which was very emotional. Poor counsellor looked slightly shocked at the amount of stuff on my plate, “chaos” was how she described it 😂.

This evening was amazing, went to see my eldest in a school music event and he absolutely smashed it, I’ve never seen him perform so well, I was speechless. Even though his group didn’t win, they were incredible and he dealt with the disappointment really well, which he quite often doesn’t (he’s autistic). So I was prepared for a meltdown and instead got a marvellous evening and it has really cheered me up.

I am super proud of you for sorting out the transport for your son, that’s amazing! You are doing brilliantly. And the excitement of your children about their rooms is wonderful. Love the football one! So glad you had a good time with your daughter too. And it’s so great to hear you talking about your future. You and the other awesome ladies on this thread give me inspiration every time I read it.

Though I can’t shake the idea that @ChoccieCornflake now smells like a Terry’s chocolate orange 🍫🍊

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Terrys chocolate orange .
There’s a boutique in Manhattan I read about that sells a perfume called ‘Secretions Magnifique’ and it’s supposed to smell of semen, blood and breast milk combined 🤢xx

Good Morning Ladies of the Spoon Brigade! I had a good chuckle at some of the earlier posts about scents. I felt sick before breakfast 😂It's heartening that the thread seems to have take a really positive turn and it's a joy to share it with you all and especially you Laura for bringing us all together. I'm so proud of you this week for the progress you've made. I've got tickets for a Knitting/Sewing fair today but I think if I go to town I will try and meet my friend for cocktails instead......dilemma!! Have a great Friday everyone.

Good morning @nornironlady How are you today? Happy Friday 😊
Re scents my first boyfriend when I was 16 used to drown himself in Joop and I cannot stand the smell now.
Thank you for being on this journey with me @nornironlady and everyone else in the spoon brigade. I feel very blessed to have met you all ❤️
I hope you enjoy the sewing fair/cocktails , let us know how you got on and which one you decided 😂. It’s freezing here today xx

Laura the very same thing happened to me at about 18. I want to throw up when I get a whiff of the Joop these days 😂 It really stands out. It's still really mild here which is a bit unsettling as I'm getting out of bed a bit earlier to whack the heat on before getting up properly and I don't think it's needed. I'm still in my dressing gown regardless 😅If you don't hear from me later it will likely be the cocktails that won!!

It’s so lovely to hear from you @Ruralretreating . I’m glad you’ve had your first counselling session I can imagine it must have been very hard with it being your first one and emotional but you did it so you should be super proud of yourself, I’m proud of you ❤️
Your evening sounds amazing , I bet your heart could have burst watching your son on that stage. He sounds super amazing .
It’s great news about the taxi isn’t it , I feel quite pleased with myself for looking into it and enquiring. You guys on here have massively helped me change my mindset. Yes it’s really crap what happened and I didn’t deserve to be treated like that but I’m not the first woman and I won’t be the last. The main thing is I got out, I’ve not got somebody every day telling me what a bad awful person I am , I’m ready to start my new life . They do say life begins at 40 🥰xx

It was so, so proud. I’ve always known he can do, but to see him perform so brilliantly was amazing. I’m so grateful to his friends for believing in him, he said it’s being in that group which has made the difference.

I’m so glad you are excited about your new life. You have so much to give and I think you will help so many people. Be proud that you’ve swapped “ somebody every day telling me what a bad awful person” you are, for all of us to tell you every day how great you are!

Had never heard of those scents or vagina candles before thankfully 🤢 Will still look out for Black Tulip though!

nornironlady · 08/11/2024 07:55

I will text you a picture of my cocktail! That's a good idea getting back into bed on a cold day. Once you get the house things will be really busy so take the time to conserve some energy. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear what you think of the new house xx

AdmittowearingCrocs · 08/11/2024 09:49

Good morning spoon tribe, a warm cozy bed with a book sounds lovely Laura but don’t forget to eat. I bet you cannot wait to see your new house. How exciting.
Yuk, body perfumes sound disgusting 🤮 My x mother in law used to wear Poison. It was so strong and when she bought me a bottle I had to smile sweetly and say thank you. I could never bring myself to wear it.
Well done to your son @Ruralretreating you must be so proud.
Enjoy the knitting/sewing fair or cocktails today @nornironlady
I am off to meet up with my friend for for lunch in a pub a little later (begins with W and does cheap food). She used to be my boss before I retired but we remain good friends.
Have a good day everyone 🌸

Meanwhile33 · 08/11/2024 10:48

Good morning everyone, Laura what brilliant news you’ve had recently! I hadn’t checked in for a few days so have just seen all the wonderful news about your house and the transport, massive well done for getting that organised.

And the others are right, don’t ever feel bad about accepting any support and help that you can find, you’re exactly who it’s intended for and you absolutely deserve it after everything you’ve been through. I’m cheering you on. xx

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 08/11/2024 11:07

Fragrance - in the 80’s, every fella I know wore won called Kouros. You could go out with someone different, same smell. Usually accompanied with a Rick Astley blazer, striped top and chinos. Happy days!

Hi @Ruralretreating Hows your Friday going?
Awww I’m so pleased for you and your son. It sounds like he did amazing. Make sure you get his first autograph ❤️
Thank you so much , I’m slowly changing my mindset about things , it’s crazy that once you’re out of the situation you can see things more clearly. I’m sure there will be some hard times ahead still but knowing I’ve already been at rock bottom helps to know that if I got through that I could probably get through most things if that makes sense xx

Oh I’m so excited about seeing new house, it’s only 9 days away until I get the keys. Who would have thought that a month ago?

Hi Laura, had a lovely day thanks. Ham, egg and chips with a J2O and coffee for lunch. Then Christmas shopping, mostly in TK Max as they had most of the things I wanted. Nipped into the cathedral to see the hanging Mars in there. Lovely but not as good as the doves they had one year.
Gosh, 9 days, soo exciting, do take all of the support offered with getting furniture etc.
I can’t remember who made the poison- was 30 years ago now. I do remember it can in a squat dark bottle in a dark green box with a pattern like silk on it. Not red bottle and Definitely not the modern Poison I have seen advertised. I used it to keep the cats from soiling my lawn in the end as hoped it covered up their scent to stop them coming back 😂😂😂

RaspberryBeretxx · 08/11/2024 16:56

@Imbluedalale wow, just 9 days now! Did you say you'll get to have a little look tomorrow or Sunday (or did I make that up?!). That'll be great to see it, do you know what you need to get? Maybe you can ask for donations on a local FB site or see if anyone can do that on your behalf if you'd rather not put your details out there that way.

Ah, my Grandmother used to wear Anais Anais so I have that scent imprinted on me 💕. I remember it so well - very soft and pretty and floral.

The semen/blood/breastmilk perfume sounds horrifying 😱! Surely they are the things we are trying NOT to smell of 😂.

@PeggyMitchellsCameo it's so funny you say that about Kouros, my best friends BF used to wear it all the time! I was fragrance shopping with DS a while ago and had to send her a pic of it 😂. She was like "OMG, I can smell it now!". DS didn't buy it 😂.

@Ruralretreating well done your DS, that's amazing! I'm in absolute awe of anyone who can get up on stage and perform. That's so lovely his friends have helped his confidence.

@nornironlady Hope the knitting or cocktails (or one after the other?) are lovely. I haven't had a cocktail in ages! I've gone retro and have a bottle of Cava in the fridge for when DP gets here 😂.

@AdmittowearingCrocs hope you had a lovely pub lunch.

So I’ve had quite a nice day, managed to read quite abit of my book then had a cosy nap then woke up to lots of missed calls which I’ve managed to sort out this afternoon. 1st missed call was another house being offered to me but I said I’ve got one now. Second was from transport services to say that the funding for the taxi for my youngest has been signed off by people above which I’m so pleased about. I had to get a price from the taxi firms and I nearly bawked at the price but the manager at transport services said that was quite cheap! Then I had a call from my support worker and she’s coming to see me on Monday to start applying for grants etc for furniture so all in all a productive afternoon .

Hello everyone. It was a good day but I didn't manage anything I planned! My son wanted to go to town and as he's stuck at home being overwhelmed in school I thought I'd get him out for a bit. With ADHD he wanted everything and once he got a top, LED light for his room and a huge churro pretzel he was ready to go home😂I got seeing nothing myself. He's off to youth club so some quiet time. Sounds like a productive day @Imbluedalale Great news on the transport. Glad to hear most of you seem to be starting the weekend well 😀

Hi @RaspberryBeretxx Have you been upto much today?
I know 9 days! I’m going to view the outside this weekend , I cannot wait . Well I pretty much need everything all I have is the suitcase I’ve got here but I’m going to Red Cross next week or week after to see what furniture I can get there. I don’t have Facebook, I was never allowed it before and I’m not too keen getting it at the moment incase ex or his family or other people give me grief on there. I wonder if I could ask anyone here to have a look for me?
I remember buying my mum it every Christmas and I always got my dad that little dairy milk postbox you could get with the tiny dairy milk chocs individually wrapped. Does anyone remember those?
The semen/blood/breast milk perfume apparently is one of the boutiques bestsellers and it’s 365 dollars!
Omg so do you remember about the man resident I had made friends with at the crisis house? Well he texted me earlier asking if he could ring me. And we had a good talk about everything and how we are both getting on. He’s staying at his parents at the moment until he gets better and he was telling me he’s having a roast chicken dinner tonight and I said that’s what I’m craving . Well he’s just texted me and said he’s ordered me a carvery and it’s on its way! How sweet is that?We are only friends btw but he said he’s met a friend for life in me . Honestly the kindness of people amazes me , I’ve met two friends at the crisis house and all of you on here . I feel like a new person! It’s amazing . Your all amazing xx

TK Max have some lovely Christmas decorations so worth a visit. I bought a new ceramic frying pan as all the research suggests the black nonstick are not safe. Also bought some cosmetic sets for presents. Also a big box of proper Turkish delight as it is my oldest son’s favourite and he is so good to me.
I can’t remember if the cats completely stayed away but it made me feel better putting an expensive perfume to good use rather than throw it away.
So glad the taxi for your son has been signed off, now there is no reason for him not to come and live with you. Huh houses are like buses, none then 2 come along 🤣 Some one in the housing team wants to impress the MP 🎄🌸
