Positivity only....Mine is that I can eat a double burger in 4 minutes

I also have 2 degrees from Cambridge but its more extraordinary that im able to annihilate a cheap greasy kebab shop treat like a rabid hound in literal minutes

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER it is definitely all about the practice, and it depends whether you have enough time to yourself in the day to fit in 30-60 minutes. You should definitely go for it though! Good luck.

Not as amazing as most of the things on here, but...
My Mum died last year, and I spiralled a little. We didn't even have the best relationship - not awful, just not amazing - and that made it worse in some ways, thinking about what could have been.
I have a very supportive partner, and wonderful children, but I just felt empty.
Tried counselling - lovely in some ways, but not really for me.
Then I found a 'writing for wellbeing' class, and spent eight weeks scribbling away about everything and nothing.
At the end of the course, on a whim, I entered a short story competition in a magasine (a story about a woman clearing her house after her Mum dies) and was one of the runners up. Won £200.
It was all very cathartic and I did... do... feel proud of myself, but some of my friends have been a bit sniffy about it "Oh, I wish I had the time to write!" (I work full time), "Gosh, you should write for Mills & Boon!" (said in a rather snide way)... so now I don't talk about it at all.
Thought it'd be nice to share on here though.😊

@LK4, that's really wonderful - both that you found writing to the medium through which you could heal, and that you write so well that you won a competition. These are both significant achievements. Well done you! (And, of course, I am so sorry about your mum).

LK4 I'm also sorry for the loss of your mum and what might have been... if I was your friend I'd be so proud of you for writing let alone entering a story into a competition about loss and everything you'd been doing to cope. What a wonderful and as you say cathartic way to pull yourself through the darkness in some way.

In the last 3 months I have run a half marathon and achieved a PB on a 10K, a 5K and a 10 mile run.

It was only last year that I completed the C25K programme so I've made great progress even if I'm not the fastest.
