A duvet that never has a cover on

Is this weird?

Buying a duvet from Primark etc and not buying a duvet cover, just using this duvet as it is?

Anyone do this?

Kind of depends on whether it's washable and is washed.

If not, it's gross.

Would you mind posting a link to where you got them, please?

It was a while ago but both from littlewoods.

@OptimisticMermaid

It’s magic! 😂But yes. It was 30 mins not 15. Still quite impressive
It is very impressive. And makes it quite attractive for anyone thinking about getting one.

Does the drying floof then back up so they are evenly puffy?

I'm going to try an idea I have in my head.

Measure duvet. Cut two top sheets down to that size, hem them or use the iron on tape for lazy gits like me.

Attach sized sheets with fasteners to the duvet on both sides.

Remove them top and bottom for washing. Re attach when dry. No wrestling with a duvet cover and duvet. Make more if it works. No more duvet covers but body side and top side are covered.

Isn't that a great idea or stop you mad thing and just put a duvet cover on

This, I think about this every week or two.
Please let me know when you have done this. I would like to order a super king and king - cotton, linen or hemp please. I will pay any price.

Depends. Eiderdowns didn't have covers. A sheet went underneath.

A light duvet could be washed.

It isn't standard but does it matter? Not hugely, unless never washed.

Eiderdowns usually went on top of both blankets and a top sheet. I have fond memories of eiderdowns in the days before we had central heating, which was IIRC in the mid 60s.

Yes, I do. So much more convenient. You just shove it in the washing machine as it is and no need to wrestle with covers!
