I am getting tired of it, particularly now that my sons have hit puberty, so I have mandated that all human inhabitants must wear a minimum of shorts. We have no daughters so I am the lone voice here. The boys are complaining bitterly. Husband is neutral but says he understands my feelings.

My dad used to wander around without anything on at all, even when I was a teenager.

But yes, it's reasonable to ask them to wear shorts.

My DSs (now adults) used to do that, though DH wears shorts on top.. As soon as they walked in the house from school or whatever they stripped off down to pants. They only wore pants around the house, maybe wrapped in a blanket to watch TV.
Of course they wouldn't do it if there was a visitor and I really didn't mind. I can't see the problem really, nice that they feel comfortable in their bodies.

When we used to go away with my ILs, my SILs (now ex) dh used to walk round in his boxer shorts and a t-shirt. It was horrific 😂. Turned my stomach. I couldn't imagine any other bloke doing this. My husband certainly wouldn't walk round in just his boxers, even in our home, because it's gross.

If your not comfortable they should respect this how would they feel if you came out in your Bra and thong?

It is currently 24 degrees in our house and my partner is wearing jogging bottoms and a t shirt. I wouldn't tolerate anything less than shorts and it's just us two 😂

I suggest you start parading round the house In your underwear. See how quickly they are to be shocked or complain and ask them how they like it?!
