Not my parcel so why my problem?

Knock on my door 2 days ago and a man with a large parcel told me he was a resident of a nearby street. He said the parcel had been delivered to him in error.

As I wasn't expecting anything I checked the address and it was for a neighbour 2 doors away. I told the man it wasn't mine and he said he had tried numerous times to deliver it to neighbour and he was never in. He'd put a note through the door and no one had called him and he could no longer store the large parcel.

When I asked why he was knocking on my door he said I lived nearer so I should take it. Like a fool, I did. I think I was so gob smacked I didn't react sensibly.

I have also tried to deliver it and put a note through his letterbox - I do know neighbour by sight and he has been at home as car has come and gone.

I'm also fed up of large parcel in my hallway so I'm thinking of passing it onto another neighbour. What do you think? 😀

I dragged it round there at about 9pm and left it on his drive. The cardboard was soggy and ripped a bit.
I rang his bell and scarpered - a bit like knock down ginger.

I spent the rest of the evening peering outside from my top window to see if he took it in. It's not there this morning.

The thing is I genuinely feel guilty in case it's damaged. Although rationally I left 2 notes plus knocked numerous times. So I know not my fault but I'm hiding away in case he sees me.

Hope the CF came and said thank you!!
Tbh I'd of put it out in the rain ling before now

Well done op. Brilliant 👏 It's his own fault if it's scratched. He had plenty of opportunities to get it from neighbour 1 and yourself. Don't ever take.in any more parcels for.them!

So cheeky ain't it! I have neighbours we don't get along with, constantly have their parcels sent to my address when they was at home. The driver from Evri would come and complain and even say himself they are home just not answering as he can hear someone inside. I said to his face yep they are in anytime you come and drop their parcels here 2 minutes later the girl knocks in her pyjamas! I think they have bailiffs or something as they never open their door but are home! I stopped taking them the last time the Evri man knocked I explained I will not take anymore, to which is was okay and understood! Neighbours are cheeky, and take the piss!
