To be a bit hurt he left my son out

dh and I went for breakfast with FIL and his wife today. DH brought my step dc, 12 and 9 and I brought my son 14. FIL went to the shop and came out with chocolate bars for his two grandchildren and left my son with nothing.

He’s known him since he was 8. DH has messaged him to say that all of the children should be included as we are a blended family and FIL hasn’t replied. I wish I’d said something at the time but I was taken aback and left it to DH.

Thank you - I did wonder if I was going mad for a minute!

😂

OP it wouldn't be a mumsnet thread if there wasn't at least one loon chiming in!

Take care.

When I first moved in with DH 6 years ago, FIL invited DH and my two step children for a bbq (My dc and I were not included in the invitation). DH dealt with it by having a bbq here instead and saying that we had more space so everyone could be included. So he does have form for this. I suppose I was ‘grabby’ to expect he might spare us a sausage 😂

Don’t think its grabby at all to expect someone to invite their child’s partner when doing a function.
