I’m cold. But also poor so I’m doing my best to keep it off!

we are at the 'wrap a blanket' round yourself stage! i'll be damned if i put the heating on in spetember

I have fished out long sleeved t-shirts instead of vest tops and also put shorts away, for now.

Chillimuma · 09/09/2024 20:43

south of London and easily won’t put it on until mid October. We live in a new build
Very insulted

Why are you insulted???

OldTinHat · 09/09/2024 21:16

Nope. In the south here.

I may swap my sheet back to a duvet this week though.

MovingTooFast121 · 09/09/2024 21:13

Fuck me no wonder the planet is fucked. Do people not know how to put on a sodding jumper?

My neighbour told me tonight she’s put her heating on. She’s a real sun worshipper though.

I smiled politely, made sympathetic noises and silently judged. 😇

SaffronsMadAboutMe · 09/09/2024 21:17

I'm in London and thought about putting it on this afternoon but resisted.

Might need to put it on for an hour in the morning.

Also need to dig out and wash the warm dressing gowns.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 09/09/2024 21:18

The thermostat decides when it comes on here and it’s not been cold enough for it to kick in yet.

I dried 4 loads of washing outside today - thick hoodies, joggers etc that have had to wait all weekend because if the rain. I need it to cool
off if it’s going to rain because the heating is needed to dry things indoors without them getting smelly.

Drinkandthink · 09/09/2024 21:19

Gosh no! I feel the cold but I've still got my windows open most of the day and went for a walk in just a t shirt today. I'm hoping to keep the heating off until late october/Nov! I'm still using air con in the car too.

I do live in a toasty, well insulated, new build and I'm very far south so the weather is still warm.

Mines been on since the start of august.

We didn't do summer this year in Scotland

You might not have done summer here, I certainly did!

sewingstockings · 09/09/2024 21:20

It’s 10 degrees here. Tomorrow night is supposed to be 5 degrees. I have a fleecy blanket to put over me. Heating clicked on a few days ago in the morning as we have on thermostat and timers.

Your memory is shocking.

You’ve obviously forgotten about that perfectly glorious spell of unseasonably fine weather we enjoyed between 15:15 and 15:45 on Monday 29 July.

Crazycatlady79 · 09/09/2024 21:21

Nope. Not cold enough in North Somerset. Windows open day and night.

TrixieFatell · 09/09/2024 21:23

Midlands here. Two loads of washing line dried and I've had the windows and back door open today

LauderSyme · 09/09/2024 21:27

I am obviously a rare delicate flower because I put mine on today for the first time in quite a few months. The house felt chilly and I am coming down with a bug so decided to treat myself. But now this thread has shamed me so am going to turn it off.

😂😂😂

longdistanceclaraclara · 09/09/2024 21:27

No. I'm still in shorts. Shit weather but not cold.

FarmGirl78 · 09/09/2024 21:28

Nope. Only allow it on between October and March. October is like the challenge month where I'm desperate to get through it without admitting defeat and turning the thermostat up. Last year I was well hard and lasted until first week of Dec, but I do have an electric blanket so that helps.

100% this. Madness! It's 9th September, and some people are putting the heating on already! FFS! Hmm

sleepwithblanket · 09/09/2024 21:29

Yes. A couple of 6 am mornings last week when it was cold. You could see your breath first thing and then this evening for about 40 minutes when we got in from work. Rural Scotland.

DoraSpenlow · 09/09/2024 21:30

Currently in Arizona. The temperature hasn't dropped below 28C at night and has been averaging 42C during the day for two weeks. I think I might need the heating on when I get home later this week!

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 09/09/2024 21:30

Heating on? I’m in London & perimenopausal. After months of sleeping under a sheet I’ve only just put my duvet on.

Elkle · 09/09/2024 21:30

No, in Scotland and not had it on yet. It's been very warm indoors though, thermostat currently showing 21.6c.
I would hardly ever have it on, I don't like the heat, but do have it on if DP and/or the kids are cold, I won't make everyone freeze to suit me!

To be fair it was glorious on Saturday- 30 degrees. However that half hour passed and I’ve lit the fires since.

To ask if you’ve put your heating on yet?!

2 mornings last week and it was 7 degrees where I am. This evening was 9 degrees at 5.45 pm. Not madness at all.

Doggymummar · 09/09/2024 21:33

I have had three days this year so far without my heated poncho, Lakeland thanks for asking. I am always cold.

jmh740 · 09/09/2024 21:36

Yes but only really so I can get clothes dry
