I’m cold. But also poor so I’m doing my best to keep it off!

No. I live in Ireland. It's about 15° so not really cold. We're used to the cold, rainy weather ! Heat stays off until October!
Also the Summer duvet is still on our bed & refuse to put the Winter duvet on yet. Wouldn't feel the benefit Grin

Chillimuma · 09/09/2024 20:43

south of London and easily won’t put it on until mid October. We live in a new build
Very insulted

Loafbeginsat60 · 09/09/2024 20:44

Ours is always on, set to 20 degrees in the evenings and 16 during the day when we are out. So it just comes on if it drops below that. Which it has.

Did you mean insulated or are you horrified at the idea of having heating on😓? (Meant to be a sweating imoji!)

sugarapplelane · 09/09/2024 20:47

No way. It’s far too warm. I’m still mooching about in a t shirt and flip flops.
Heating doesn’t go on till it gets proper arctic. Tropical at the moment

Namechangedforspooky · 09/09/2024 20:48

It’s still t shirt and flip flops weather here (midlands!).

Ellie56 · 09/09/2024 20:49

No it's not cold enough yet. And I'm still wearing my shorts.

AngelinaFibres · 09/09/2024 20:50

Not put the central heating on yet but we have a shed full of firewood so I've had a few fires in the 2 stoves. Lovely and cosy.

Singleandproud · 09/09/2024 20:50

I put mine on for the first time on the 1st, it was a horrible cold and rainy day and I got my washing dried Infront of the radiator too.

I only live in a small flat and my walls all have insulating lining paper on so popping the boiler on for a bit doesn't cost too much and the paper keeps the heat in.

Oodies, or fake ones from kudd.ly are a game changer though and keep you so warm.

I wondered when these threads would start! 🙄

The 'brrrrrr it's freezing cold' posters are probably the same ones who were complaining about how they hate the heat just a week ago!

.

Crystallizedring · 09/09/2024 20:53

I wanted to earlier but we had a new heating system installed and I can't work the bloody thing out. DH told me not to be so ridiculous, we're not putting the heating on in September. Roll on October if it's going to be this cold. I might be allowed to put the heating on 🙏

MiddleAgedDread · 09/09/2024 20:54

Yes! It’s been on a few times. We had fog and lingering dampness since Thursday last week, the washing wasn’t drying and it’s often been below 18 inside which is too cold to sit and work or relax in an evening.

RhubarbStrawberry · 09/09/2024 20:54

I've set it so it comes on if it goes below 20 in the evenings. The washing just wasn't drying before I did that and when i dried it outside it kept raining on it. SE England. Luckily only a small house to heat, so not too expensive.

Decafflatteplease · 09/09/2024 20:55

We are still in summer duvet mode although it's wool so temperature regulating. We need dressing gowns first thing in the morning though the past few days (DH and I wake up at 545)

billybear · 09/09/2024 21:01

just put mine on for an hour while i have a shower i am ill with a chest infection and feel very cold.1 hour thats all

lashy · 09/09/2024 21:04

No. I'm in North East and my thermostat has registered 19.5 / 20.5 degrees over the last few days. Still fine for me.

NeverEnoughPants · 09/09/2024 21:04

No, it's not cold yet.

x2boys · 09/09/2024 21:08

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 09/09/2024 19:57

No but I’m dahn sahf so it’s not that cold. Have got the windows open in my bedroom in fact.

I'm in northwest and have my fan on I am menopausal but it's still fairly warm .

Jeezitneverends · 09/09/2024 21:09

East coast of Scotland were at the “put some bloody socks on, if your feet are warm so’s the rest of you” point

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 09/09/2024 21:10

We don’t have any heating but I did put a hot water bottle in the bottom of the bed last night which was nice.

caringcarer · 09/09/2024 21:11

Not at the moment. I'm quite warm in a T shirt in Midlands.

nutbrownhare15 · 09/09/2024 21:12

It's not November, so no. I try to hold out to December!

MovingTooFast121 · 09/09/2024 21:13

Fuck me no wonder the planet is fucked. Do people not know how to put on a sodding jumper?

Butchyrestingface · 09/09/2024 21:14

No, I haven’t. And probably won’t until at least November.

Who said getting old and fat and (presumably) peri-menopausal was all bad? 😄

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 09/09/2024 21:14

Mines been on since the start of august.

We didn't do summer this year in Scotland
