To think we should all boycott John Lewis until they respect their female employees

This is a letter from a female employee of John Lewis's Cheadle branch. John Lewis told its female employees that they have to share toilets and locker rooms with trans identifying men. The employee says this is having a terrible effect especially on colleagues who have experienced trauma relating to men or who have religious reasons to not want to share a space with someone who is the opposite sex.

@ElleWoods15
What is the difference between a woman and a trans woman (in real terms)?

Can I, a person who has given birth, be a trans woman? If not, why not (in real terms)?

There were no ‘MRAs’ posting as far as I’m aware.

As for those of us who disagree with your views, possibly we gave up because of the disrespectful (and at times absusive) nature of the debate from posters espousing GC views…

Anyone who dares to express a different opinion on here is automatically an MRA, TRA or man, didn't you know?!
Heaven forbid a woman has a mind of her own.
Some heads on here explode at the mere thought and can't compute.

This is the thing. It’s really disingenuous to post what is apparently a genuine question (I’m not sure it is- you know exactly why you, a woman who has given birth as you put it, is not a trans woman) and then immediately follow it up with a personal attack containing an abusive slur. That’s why I won’t debate with you or answer your questions @BernardBlacksBreakfastWine.

Have you any idea how paternalistic (ironically) you sound?!

No, not really, just when you get "can I be a trans woman if I've given birth?" you know they're not posting in good faith and it's pointless engaging.

What slur btw? MRA?? If you don’t want to be called a Men’s Rights Activist then… don’t advocate for men’s rights!!

It's now comical.

And yes, anyone who puts men's rights above, and at the expense of women with a made up nonsensical ideology is a TRA/MRA/misogynist.

Going by your argument then - why do people who are "GC" get upset enough to get TERF classed as a slur on here?
Going by your logic, people who are one shouldn't act like one 😕

Well not really. If trans women are actual women as protested here, and a woman gives birth, can that woman be a trans woman? Apparently so by what’s being claimed. If not why not. A reasonable question.

Find a post where I’ve complained about any terminology. Then get back to me 😀

Talking of reasonable questions… if trans women are women, can I be one? If not, why not?

Because it’s the insistence of ‘trans exclusive’. People don’t want males in their spaces. I’ve seen quite a few posts now not giving a rats ass if trans men (females) are in those spaces, thus rendering the term TERF useless. Call me a MERF if you will. You make it about trans when it’s really about men. Who trans women are no matter how many times you say they aren’t.

It's deemed a deletable slur on here though because people got upset at it.
So can't you see that calling ordinary, every day women who don't agree with you men or TRAs could be seen as insulting too?

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 31/08/2024 20:18

So, to sum up, no answer on the ‘can I be a trans woman’ front? ☹️

Crack on

RufustheFactualReindeer · 31/08/2024 20:21

TRA or MRA could be considered insulting

i mean it shouldn’t be, but I think its the activist bit that people find annoying

but being called a man isnt insulting IMHO, its not something i do…i always assume everyone on here is female unless they say otherwise 😀
