This is a letter from a female employee of John Lewis's Cheadle branch. John Lewis told its female employees that they have to share toilets and locker rooms with trans identifying men. The employee says this is having a terrible effect especially on colleagues who have experienced trauma relating to men or who have religious reasons to not want to share a space with someone who is the opposite sex.

The point being you don't seem to care about the women who are affected by this? Why is that?

I think they had their reputation tarnished by the viral video of the distressed woman on social media, which was then picked up by MSM.

My argument is that some men are sexual predators. Transwomen are male or they could not be transwomen. They are in the same sex class as 99% of sex offenders. I can't tell if a male person is a sexual predator just by looking at them, can you?

Do you think single sex spaces cast aspersions on all men or do you accept it's a reasonable safe guarding measure?

I'm interested in what is the opinion you refer to that large numbers of people disagree with. Could you explain?

You seem to have some sort of insider knowledge on this. Can you let the rest of us women know how you sort the sexually predatory males from the non sexually predatory males? And how are transwomen not male? If they're not what are they transitioning from?

No retailer has a god-given right to exist. If they want to survive they've got to treat their customers and staff with respect rather than pandering to a noisy minority on social media.

Can you point to the scientific papers that prove that transwomen aren't male? Can you explain how one changes their sex? How do they drop the Y chromosome and gain an extra X? How do they shrink their skeleton? Lose muscle mass? Widen their hips? And vice versa obviously for transmen.

Yep you win, I’m not as intelligent as you. That must be it, it’s clearly impossible for you to just recognise that this is not an issue for me. Possibly, I do not mind sharing spaces with trans women as I do not feel they are all sexual predators, I am not concerned for my safety on this circumstance. I believe women’s rights are not being eroded - I say this by stating it’s also by no means perfect.
