What threads have you seen on here that have lodged themselves into your brain?

For me it's the lady who was gifted a periscope by her dh which was completely random and hilarious.

Also the lady who upset a crow and never came back! Assumed she and her dog were eaten by the crows.

A thread by can’ttypefortears about ten years ago where her husband had left her for another woman.

It was heart breaking

PuzzledParrott · 27/08/2024 22:26

The Sistine Chapel screamer.

Myfavouriteflowers · 27/08/2024 22:27

Oh I remember the upset crow thread!

Gilbertwasawuss · 27/08/2024 22:30

Pom bears was my fave. Mumsnet at its peak imo

I felt like I was part of such a fun little club as it went along

Trinity69 · 27/08/2024 22:32

I’m with you on the crow post. Where did she go? Has she been captured by them and held captive as a warning to all other local dog walkers?!

Cherryana · 27/08/2024 22:32

I will never forget Birdy Friend. My top thread of all time.

SillyMooMoos · 27/08/2024 22:33

Lady who was fostering a preemie baby who was born addicted to drugs. Really humbling thread.

Sheelanogig · 27/08/2024 22:34

The parent whose young child's skin was going blue/black and no medical solutions. I hope this young child is now a fiesty teenager.

The weekend there was thread about famous family and Cslvin Harris's sister was on the thread and totally delightfully funny.

FluffyDressingGown - you missed and thought about frequently.

It's frustrating, like the last page of a book that's been torn out! I think her last message was that she was going out and that was it!

I think it's probably still in classics somewhere but there was a thread of reasons people had broken up with girlfriends/boyfriends and it was so funny (things like the date showing up in a leather, fringed jacket or wearing ridiculously ugly shoes, or kissing like they were trying to eat the other person 😂). I try to only remember the funny threads I've come across as there can be some incredibly sad/upsetting ones too.

CheeseandOnionCrispFan · 27/08/2024 22:37

The one that haunts me & that I think about the most is the thread by Purple Lampshades - such an awful situation for her and her son and how manipulation can so easily affect any of us. I'm so hoping to read some good news ftom her soon. Thinking of Purple often.

Mypuppyismad · 27/08/2024 22:37

Someone who heard a spooky tune in her garden like an old music box. I remember it just disappeared or I missed what happened for some reason.

Mypuppyismad · 27/08/2024 22:38

Oh and also the spooky thread where the man was in the nightclub years later looking exactly the same.

User5462462 · 27/08/2024 22:39

Mine is the one from 3 or so years ago about a houseguest who refused to come out of her room. It was the wife of OP's brother and the theories ranged from her being pregnant, sick, emetophobic, agoraphobic or plain snobbery. She didn't even come out to eat and OP left food that was thrown in the bin. In the end the guests went back to their home country and the story basically ended but for some reason it was such an outlandish scenario that I genuinely think about it now and then. Wonder what the true reason was.

Borris · 27/08/2024 22:39

A lady called something like cupoftea that had a very poorly baby that was a real fighter and lived much longer than expected but I cried buckets with the update that the baby had passed away.

Oh yes.

I hope her son is OK (and PLS is fine as well).

Montymorency · 27/08/2024 22:40

the one about advising m & s customers about food pairing - steak & chips

DietCokeExtraIce · 27/08/2024 22:40

Pamela, still think about that one especially when having a "bad day" which is never actually that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Unfortunately it nearly derailed towards the end but that aside it was heartbreaking.

wigwambam's gift of knicker elastic from her mil was a good one. not outrageous or anything. just really - odd.

the poster who claimed their friend was faking a pregnancy. It got to the tenth month I think then they never posted again. almost certainly a troll but bloody well done. I still want closure 😂

PuzzledParrott · 27/08/2024 22:26

The Sistine Chapel screamer.

I still re-read that if I’m feeling down 😅

Seiheiki · 27/08/2024 22:42

David and Caroline. He was an unbelievable predator on here. Lowest of the low.

WTDAC · 27/08/2024 22:42

I recall there was once (10 years ago?) a post where a lady described how her partner had sprayed bleach on her very old cat because it had weed on the floor.
By the end of the thread she had decided to leave her partner, who was nasty in all sorts of other ways.
My memory is shocking post menopause so I may have remembered incorrectly, but at the time I thought it was wonderful that Mumsnet was there to support the poster.
It made me cry at the time.

TemporaryName123 · 27/08/2024 22:43

I remember Pamela. That was heartbreaking.
