What threads have you seen on here that have lodged themselves into your brain?

For me it's the lady who was gifted a periscope by her dh which was completely random and hilarious.

Also the lady who upset a crow and never came back! Assumed she and her dog were eaten by the crows.

Who were David and Caroline?

neilyoungismyhero · 27/08/2024 22:43

I often think of Pamela

SillyMooMoos · 27/08/2024 22:33

Lady who was fostering a preemie baby who was born addicted to drugs. Really humbling thread.

Same.

Eileen101 · 27/08/2024 22:45

Pamela's thread.

Also A thread by a lady who found her two year old had passed away during the night and she found her in the morning. My eldest was 2 at the time and it was heartbreaking. I think it was her third, so she was trying to be strong for everyone else. I think of her often.

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 27/08/2024 22:47

Loads, some highlights include:
Is that you, UCM?
Brian from Hull
The lady who answered her own thread about a pushchair.

Enko · 27/08/2024 22:47

Poster who years ago in early December posted asking how to tell her 4 year old dd there would be no Christmas. She and dh had emigrated to Canada and money were a lot tighter than they thought it would be (I think she had been unable to get work) she ended up making a "Christmas tree" out of curled up coloured paper with her dd and their landlord on seeing it had shown with a small light up Christmas tree for the dd. It was such a heart warming thread about someone who just wanted to do the best she could for her dd. I oftem Wonder if they are still in Canada and how they are doing.

roughride24 · 27/08/2024 22:48

A lady who was being abused still by her ex. She had a daughter (I think) who she was trying to keep safe but she was broken into one night and thought it was to do with her ex. I thought a lot about her but I think the thread was taken down.

Also the poor lady whose daughter suddenly died after having tonsillitis.

On a happier note I really enjoyed the penetration man thread. I was having a really horribly bad time and that was the first thing to make me laugh out loud. And Suzy Quattros fat nan of course.

PensivePencil · 27/08/2024 22:51

There was one about slightly odd things your in laws (or relatives!) do, from a woman who was staying at her in laws and going mad. It was funny, nostalgic and touching all at once.

Mypuppyismad · 27/08/2024 22:37

Someone who heard a spooky tune in her garden like an old music box. I remember it just disappeared or I missed what happened for some reason.

This is the one I always think of too. I'm sure the thread was removed in the end. I really wanted an update on that one. It was getting so creepy.
Also the Savernake forest thread 😱

Dreamingofthishouse · 27/08/2024 22:53

a thread about a lady who was leaving a DV situation in secret while the husband was out and they were fleeing to a far away location and had a very small window of time to leave - hope all worked out well then, I remember that day thinking are they ok, are they ok etc etc.

also lady who had random strange odd happening at her house in village, out on walks etc . Stalker vibes. Again awful.

sistine chapel gives me a chuckle every time I think of it!

LovelyBitOfHam · 27/08/2024 22:55

SillyMooMoos · 27/08/2024 22:33

Lady who was fostering a preemie baby who was born addicted to drugs. Really humbling thread.

Really sad and still shakes me that life can change so quickly. RIP.

HowardTJMoon · 27/08/2024 22:55

PUNCH THE CAKE. PUNCH IT.

Umpteentimesnow · 27/08/2024 22:55

Another one that remembers Pamela often

momtoboys · 27/08/2024 22:57

PuzzledParrott · 27/08/2024 22:26

The Sistine Chapel screamer.

This one, for certain! 😂

Shefliesonherownwings · 27/08/2024 22:57

There was one a year or two ago about a MNer on holiday, maybe in France and she’d witnessed an abusive family shouting at their daughter and then driving off without her. They didn’t come back for her for hours, if at all and the OP looked after the girl for a while. The police were called if I remember. I always wondered and hoped the little girl was ok.

Also the one where a big group of friends had kind of been subsiding one of the couples over the years as they never had any money, only to later find out the couple had been living off one salary and saving the rest as house deposits for their children. There was a lot of bad feeling about the couple ‘lying’ about their earnings and sponging off the friends. Curious to know where the land lies now on that one.

mommatoone · 27/08/2024 22:59

Another one that remembers Pamela. Such a brave lady, heartbreaking to read her journey.

80smonster · 27/08/2024 23:00

Penis Beaker
Shroud of Turin

SnotbagAndTshirt · 27/08/2024 23:00

The one where OP’s husband was obsessed with Goldie Hawn. His parents were obsessed with her too and had some kind of shrine dedicated to her. Op was forced to watch Goldie Hawn films against her wishes 😂

Rubberducksallround · 27/08/2024 23:01

The Someone Must Be Able to Do Something thread
It's on to it's third thread, I've still never commented but I think about that woman and hope her son is safe at least once a week. Really hoping she has good news soon

HyggeTygge · 27/08/2024 23:03

Some of the ones I remember were not very dramatic or posted often but were just sad. Lobster Boy, and a lady who had a car crash and discovered her husband was cheating (think the husband was injured).

Pamela, Wyatt, Joseph and EMIN of course.

Sulking husbands left right and centre but mainly jamais and another one who deleted all her threads, but the husband was so rubbish he didn't even know what school the kids went to.

TheSilentSister · 27/08/2024 23:03

I've seen many over the year but 'Squirrels' and 'Allotment Wars' spring to mind.

Dancingqueen90 · 27/08/2024 23:04

The one where a lady who was secretly planning her escape and had bought somewhere and it was nearly completing. I was really cheering her on. You could here the relief in her posts. Hope she found her happy freedom.

strawberryandtomato · 27/08/2024 23:04

SillyMooMoos · 27/08/2024 22:33

Lady who was fostering a preemie baby who was born addicted to drugs. Really humbling thread.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. Always remembered this. She died of cancer in the end didn't she. Her threads were moved to classics. Never forgot

HyggeTygge · 27/08/2024 23:04

And a girl who had given birth as a young teen and given up the baby. I often think of her as she said the baby would now be the age she was at the time.
