AIBU in thinking good luck to Madge for her penchant for men 30+ years younger? She is currently dating a man aged 28 and she’s 66. People are outraged by it - but she’s having fun and I think good luck to her! She loves to be controversial and she has the money and the power to do what she likes!

Why is it ok for men to date much younger women but when this is reversed everyone is shocked and outraged and “concerned” for her safety??!! She’s fine! She’s loving life. It’s so silly and pretentious anyway, all this faux worry for her well-being.

I don't think they're having sex. It's not a real relationship, he's a paid companion. She can't keep him quiet with an nda unless he's paid, so he'll get an allowance, and probably a clothing budget, maybe even a bonus if he agrees to extend the arrangement.

Madonna is gross, but she's always been. I'm not worried about her or her much younger men, who are consenting adults, but I do find her way of living repulsive. She reminds me of Hugh Hefner, but with more cosmetic procedures. If anything, it's sad for someone to be her age and still be so shallow and desperate for attention, but whatever! I hadn't heard or thought about her in probably years before this, so now I can go back to not thinking about her for another several years and she can continue to grasp at the last vestiges of her youth.

I adored Madonna when I was young - had posters of her on my walls etc.
However, social media has not been a good thing for her.
it was one thing when she was occasionally “shocking” though things like her Sex book or her “In Bed with Madonna” film, but now she’s in her late sixties and trying to get attention with every TikTok post, it just looks sad

Yikes some of the comments on here are depressing. 20 years ago you'd expect most women to be cheering a 66 year old woman dating a sane 28 year old for whatever reasons on both sides- no one cares when men have younger girlfriends at this age. Now about half are saying eww she's too old? Eww she's got MH issues? Leave her alone! She's an icon - she's doing exactly what she wants and probably is quite crazy after c. 50 years and all her adult in the spotlight - if she's not keeping him as a slave then good for her and him, why is anyone bothered.

She probably has realised that 60 year old me have fat saggy bellies and moan about their health too much ( or is that just my husband?).

Sometimes when I'm scrolling I see some random videos of groups of young, beautiful Thai women stood in the street trying to convince overweight, balding Western men to pay to be with them. I know in some cases these men will be paying for the 'girlfriend experience' and I find the whole thing disgusting and exploitative. It is such a blatant abuse of power and money and I will never be convinced that this is in anyway empowering for the women or that it isn't embarrassing and desperate for the men.

I see Madonna, Mick Jagger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kris Jenner etc as a more monied version of this. They are effectively buying people to be with them and this has all the same ethical issues as what is going on in Thailand.

I don’t think it’s true that no one bats an eyelid at old men dating much younger women. I think it’s considered creepy. Or that beautiful young women “flock” to rich older men. Oh I don’t doubt a rich old man can sometimes get a beautiful young woman to marry him but they certainly don’t have their pick.

Obviously a man or woman aged 66 going out with a 28 year old is cringy. It is not a man vs woman situation. It is sad and most people doing this are rich fools that are being taken advantage of.

Anyone with her kind of money is 'very attractive and doesn't look their age at all", whether male or fmale, and no matter the age of their paramour.

I suspect the difference is when 66 year old men date women in their 20s it’s for sex. When Madonna does it it’s for people like you , to provide controversy. And from what the rumours are, she goes to bed alone.

I think she can date whoever she wants to. They are both consenting adults. I was coming on to say about Joan Collins who did marry her much younger man - but maybe we think that's acceptable as he's 'old'?

I think it's awful that both Madonna and Joan Collins feel they have to have these medical procedures to continue to 'look good' and that is 'our' fault as society for having double standards and expecting women to still look young while admiring men who age 'gracefully'.

So would all of you supporting this age gap be happy if a woman of 50 was dating your 20 year old son?
Particularly if she worked in Greggs rather than being minted?
