Made a bolognaise pasta sauce type thing with 1 kg of minced beef steak.
Onions, peppers and mushrooms added.
Have come home from work and DH and DS 18 have polished the bloody lot off leaving me with a measly ladle full of sauce
( pasta was cooked separately for clarification)

DH will do this if left to his own devices - an amount of meat I think should serve 3-4 can disappear.

When I serve it up it’s 1/4 meat, 1/2 veg, 1/4 carb on the plate, with extra carbs added as required to fill them up if they’re particularly hungry. DH and DS2 can eat a meal that’s 3/4 meat if not told to sod off.

How the hell they think we can afford to eat with that level of meat or fish consumption I do not know.

Wow-I use 500g mince and that feeds 6 of us for two separate meals. That’s a huge amount of food. And yes I have boy teenagers in that mix

Anyway, they make cheese,ham salad wraps every morning at 6 am to take to work

DH has been known to take the equivalent of two servings of bolognaise sauce as 'seconds' when I've batch cooked what ought to be enough for 4 of us plus 3-4 servings to freeze, which has annoyed me somewhat.

Greedy as fuck and so inconsiderate. Did they leave a decent portion of the pasta? Why couldn't they have bulked up with more of the pasta or some bread on the side? I'd be raging to be left such a measly amount of the meal I'd lovingly prepared for them.
I wouldn't be cooking for them for a long time. And when/if I decided to batch cook something delicious again, any surplus would be going straight into the freezer.

I've known men and their teenage sons go into competition with each other - who can eat the most, drink the most, tell the best stories etc. A bit like vying for Top Dog in the house.....

Also OP, when they come desperately scrabbling for the wraps tomorrow morning, make sure you tell them you ate them. All of them. During the night.

I think the heart of this issue is the lack of thought for the person that cooked. I would be telling them I am disgusted with them for that alone - how much they eat is up to them to not leave a decent portion for you is unkind and inconsiderate. I would be taxing them for a takeaway and having the bolog for lunch next day although I suspect it would get swiped for a pre bed snack.
