When.. they are the vast majority in England.

I’ve heard of one in NI: and none in Scotland or Wales.

So you've just told me that the rioting didn't start because of those 3 girls, and when asked why it started you literally tell me it's because of the 3 girls. I'm not even remotely debating it with you that the riots shouldn't be happening, it's an absolute joke with brain dead dickheads fighting and looting for the sake of it. But it happened because of those 3 girls, like you have just confirmed.

It didn’t really though, it happened because people thought the perpetrator was a Muslim who was “fresh off a boat”. It wasn’t really a reaction to what happened when it was due to fake information spread around with the goal to whip up hatred. Why was the start of the rioting an attack on a mosque if it was truly in relation to those 3 children?
Its simply an excuse to let out full blown racism under the thinly veiled guise of genuine concern.

I am fed up with hearing them called protests. That is a much bigger issue I think.

They're not protests. They are mindless riots, perpetrated by the lowest common denominator in society.

Scotland was given permission to have a referendum, yes.

Youre ignoring the small point of the following:

Once Scotland were given permission to ha a referendum, Scotland voted to stay in the UK.

If Scotland wanted to leave the UK, they would.

They don't.

And I was able to say that you , without hurling insults at you.

Unlike you, who called me stupid.

Try to say your point, without throwing insults at people.

Actually Scotland has no way of declaring whether they want to remain or leave the UK now. Of those that voted to remain in the referendum in 2014 how many will have changed their stance in the 10 years that have passed? Especially as in that time the UK has managed to fit in Brexit and four general elections.

I won't take abuse on here.
I stand up against abusers like you.

You have been reported for calling me stupid.

You should reflect on your earlier posts having now been educated by @XDownwiththissortofthingX before you act outraged at being called stupid.

Treesinmygarden · 06/08/2024 22:45

Grow up. People are living in fear and terror, and all the destruction of homes, businesses and communities and all you fucking care about is your Scottishness! Catch yourself on!

I'm sure if these riots were only occurring in Scotland you would not be happy with them being referred to as UK riots. The poster you were replying to was only pointing this out, she was not referring to her own nationality 👍

ToothPickk · 06/08/2024 23:53

Bouliegirl · 06/08/2024 23:44

No; the perpetrators are using misinformation around the deaths of those young girls as a justification for the riots.

Riots starting, and justification for riots is 2 totally different things. At no point have I mentioned justification. There is no justification. The riots started because of the deaths of 3 children, you know they did.

liverburd1 · 06/08/2024 23:54

Completely missing the point if the thread but it's a bit like the UK heatwaves we often see mentioned in the media......really it's a southern England heatwave

Makes no difference, still the UK. And NI has had many, many years of tolerating riots, bombs and the rest. I lived through that so don't preach at me.

The perpetrator of what? Oh yes, the 3 murdered girls. Misinformation or not, the riots started because of the death of 3 girls. Anyone saying otherwise is being purposely obtuse.

Technically, they didn't - the riots were instigated because an absolute fucking bastard killed three children, and rumours spread about his nationality, neither of which should ever have happened.

And his nationality was irrelevant, he was just a murdering scumbag. No matter what 'excuse' he produces.

Strangerthanfictions · 07/08/2024 00:00

Agreed if it was only happening in wales and Scotland it wouldn’t be called uk riots

100% true

Reflect . Lol.

Yes I'm going to sit here with a cup of tea and 'reflect ' on my earlier posts.

That's a good one.

Calling a poster stupid is not allowed on here, as you well know.

Why should you be above reproach just because you've lived in NI? Your tone to the previous poster was patronising and hyperbolic.

You've literally just said they started because 3 kids were killed. So fucking boring this, time and time again people saying it wasn't that, and then go on to explain it was that. Misinformation is irrelevant, if those 3 kids carried on their class til the end and then went home to their parents THE UK WOULDNT BE RIOTING!!!!! And you know it.

Separate comment, the rioters are fucking idiots.

I personally don’t believe they did, I think you’re painting an incredibly narrow view and it’s pretty bloody hilarious for you to call other posters obtuse.

I don’t think for a second any of these riots would have gone ahead if it were not for the deliberate spread of false information suggesting a Muslim refugee attached young White children.
The riots would not have happened without this rumour and wouldn’t have happened merely in reaction to the attack.
There was no talk of protests or demonstrations other than in relation to Muslim buildings.

The misinformation is not in anyway irrelevant, it was specific, targeted information in order to feed these sorts of feelings. Without it this wouldn’t be happening.

I'm in the NE. We are the whitest area of England (93 % white) and there have been riots in Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Darlington.

Well said great point

Do you believe the riots would be happening if those 3 girls were tucked up in bed now? Yes or no?

Well, quite. Which is why it pisses me off so much to hear this word used in connection with them.

Pointless trying to debate with these people. They'll never admit it, but your point is obviously correct.

ToothPickk · 07/08/2024 00:04

Do you believe the riots would be happening if those 3 girls were tucked up in bed now? Yes or no?

Do you believe they would be happening without right wing propaganda which led a number of people to believe that a Muslim refugee fresh in the country carried it out?

The two are linked and it’s actually very bizarre that you’re denying it. Seems like you have some sort of agenda to legitimise it.

Do I believe the people ‘protesting’ or rioting think that they are achieving anything helpful in the wake of 3 children being murdered? No I don’t. I don’t believe when they are bricking buildings, the police or attacking people that they have those girls on their mind in the slightest.

Sweetteaplease · 07/08/2024 00:08

Everyone always says UK or British to deflect off English

Strangerthanfictions · 07/08/2024 00:10

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 06/08/2024 22:11

I agree to an extent, two cheeks of the same arse and all that, but no. In this instance, when its about lobbing bricks at brown people and torching business owned by muslims, I can't say I'm surprised at all that I've only seen one of the big two represented among the thugs.

Can't imagine a fanbase that is openly pro-Palestinian, left-wing, and anti-fascist will be out creating havoc hand-in-hand with the far right tonight.

Not a chance of the hoops fans supporting any of this nonsense. Remembering the club was started for Irish immigrants and that's the same reason they still recognise and support others who are oppressed and struggling.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 07/08/2024 00:10

Do you believe the riots would be happening if those 3 girls were tucked up in bed now? Yes or no?

Yes. But the 'reason' given would be some other crime committed by someone who sounds like a person of colour so they can be the focus of anti immigration and racist sentiments, regardless of the truth of them. Might not be today. Or tomorrow. But this was coming for some time. These rioters and agitators dont give a shit about those children and their families - if they did, they would listen to their pleas to stop.

I literally said it was the start of the riots. Which came first, the murder or the misinformation? I'm not denying anything or debating anything, like I've repeatedly said it wasn't what my comment was about. My comment just said the riots started because of the death of 3 children. Did they? Yes. Not answering you anymore it's so boring, go and pester someone else.

You think the riots would have started last Tuesday in Southport if those girls were tucked up in bed? We are talking about these specific riots. Not next month or next year. Now. The ones that started in Southport.
