Mine is ‘buttery soft’…If you haven’t come across this phrase, it is mainly used when describing leggings or other clothes, but now I’ve even seen it being used to describe gold jewellery! Also butter isn't that soft…Margariney soft doesn’t have the same ring to it I suppose.. Anyone else?

’All walks of life’. It naturalises inequality.

People saying they 'have mental health' or 'suffer from mental health'.

Tinkle999 · 05/08/2024 21:30

Another vote for reaching out. Just say contact for goodness sake.

Ah yes a lot of corporate jargon can go to… I also hate ‘it’s in your gift’ 🤢

I wouldn’t mind “buttery soft” if fashion journalists were capable of describing leather any other way. But they aren’t.

Also “crisp white shirt”. They neglect to mention that these can be bought for about three quid from every supermarket’s school uniform range.

Plastoslax · 05/08/2024 21:31

"Pooped"

and

"Passed"

Words not phrases but both american adopted words to sanitise pooed or died/passed away.

"He passed" what? A kidney stone?? A large stool???

And "pooped" used by grown adults to make the process sound cuter or less crude.

HansHolbein · 05/08/2024 21:32

Dog whistle/dog whistling is the new buzz phrase and it’s making me cringe a lot.

bakewellbride · 05/08/2024 21:32

'Front bottom' makes me feel a bit sick and also doesn't make sense!

2AND2GC · 05/08/2024 21:32

'I'm late to the party'

🤮

(There isn't a party and if there was you wouldn't be invited).

AyrshireTryer · 05/08/2024 21:32

me personally

Plastoslax · 05/08/2024 21:32

Oh yes, thanks PP:

"Reach out"

I imagine a kind of Jack to Rose reaching...futile and desperate.

Not heard this one, what context would you use it?
