Biological men should not be fighting women how is this even happening ?? Two 'women' failed eligibility tests by the IBA. Yet the IOC deem them suitable it's mind boggling

@ChemicalAli female. She was born and recorded and raised female.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2024 21:29

@ChemicalAli

There's no official confirmation other than the two failed "gender"
tests by the International Boxing Association which were based on having XY/XX chromosomes.

But presents as male in photographs

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2024 21:30

Most of the informed opinion seems to be that Khelif has something like 5-ARD like Caster Semenya.

Psychoticbreak · 02/08/2024 21:30

I dress up at halloween and present as a lot of things however I was born with a vagina and even if I did look male or butch or whatever it would not take away from the fact I was born and recorded as female at birth.

And her parents, one who presumbaly gave birth to her so was sure to be at her own childs birth.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2024 21:31

Many males with DSDs are wrongly recorded "female" at birth before their genitals and other organs have fully developed.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2024 21:32

one who presumbaly gave birth to her

Which one?

Psychoticbreak · 02/08/2024 21:33

@Ereshkigalangcleg well as far as I know it is still only females that can give birth so I will put my red chips on the mother.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/08/2024 21:34

Oh, why is that then?

It was in response to claims that they were “raised female”

We don't know, because the medical details which caused this athlete to be disqualified are confidential. But the athlete failed sex testing and didn't appeal that decision. If a sports body said you weren't female, wouldn't you appeal? Wouldn't you take a chromosome test and publicise the results?

This athlete doesn't claim to be trans but the sex testing which the Olympics used to use to make sure males and females were competing fairly in the right categories were dropped in order to allow males who are trans and males with DSDs to compete in the women's category. The Olympics explicitly decided that inclusion for these males was more important than fairness and safety for women, and they don't like the problems with that (for women) being pointed out so try to hide the reality and muzzle the media from reporting it plainly.

yeah 🙄🙄🙄

ooorrrr you could do a cheek swab then a blood test

Helleofabore · 02/08/2024 21:39

To those who wish to discredit the IBA tests, will you also discredit the testing done by FINA? WA? UCI?

Why the IBA only? The corruption was unrelated to carrying out testing for sex, what evidence do you have that the testing results are falsified? I suspect none at all.

If you are willing to continue to make this accusation, why the fuck would anyone in the world trust the IOC? They have been shown to be very corrupt in the past. They also have shown extremely poor leadership in this particular topic.

If the statements from IBA were false, a quick lawyer’s letter would have had those statements removed from publication. The IOC has not disputed that these athletes have XY chromosomes. So , why exactly should anyone believe the ‘found to have physical advantage over female athletes’ to be a falsified statement?

This ‘because it is Russia’ is just meaningless and in no way convincing.

Grow up.

All that is needed is a cheek swab to determine his chromosomes.

XX Woman
XY Man

This athlete is male with a DSD where the body is virilised from
the testosterone produced from this athlete’s testes. Whether those testes are internal or external is unknown publically and this fact is irrelevant. The presence of those testes and the usage of the testosterone is key here - and tested as per the IBA statement.

There are posters on this thread who are choosing to inaccurately refer to this person’s sex category as female due to what has been listed in their passport. This is ludicrous in light of what we know about athletes such as Semenya who is male with a DSD that only affects male people, yet was registered as female at birth. Ie. We know that errors in ‘assigning sex’ have happen and is likely to have happened.

A person’s material reality in relation to their biology needs to be clear to them, for their medical care obviously. But also in situations where regulations may exclude them from a protected sports category that due to their body’s sex category. Therefore accurate language here is appropriate.

It is fuckwittery to insist that a person who is male with a medical condition that can only occur in male people (as per that virilisation) is ‘female’ for the very weak and unregulated premise that they are ‘female’ in their passport.

Those who keep saying that this is a female athlete are ignoring reality.

The athlete has XY chromosomes and a virilised body as per the IBA tests. The discussion about whether they are ‘female’ is actually just sparple at this stage. It is being pushed for emotional reasoning and to somehow attempt to use sympathy to convince people that these male athletes should continue to be included in the female protected sports category.

It should be noted that the IOC has not contradicted the XY chromosome statement. Instead they have used premises that are flawed for their categorisation of this male athlete. Ie. An f in a passport is very week evidence.

Yes, and IMO it strengthens the case for all males with identities to be included based on "gender", whether or not they suppress testosterone.

She was born female.

No he wasn't, he was born male, with no evidence of a penis and therefore, mistakenly recorded as female.

There is no confusion.

There is, because you are certain (erroneously) that he's a woman. This is as a result of deliberate misinformation, propagated by the Algerian sports authorities and the IOC.

As for your disgraceful disparagement of Angela Carini "licked by kittens" indeed. You plainly know absolutely nothing about boxing. They didn't just ask, "Fancy a bit of boxing? Here's some gloves, off you pop to the Olympics."

She's had 108 fights, over her amateur career, comprising 84 wins and 23 losses. She didn't just turn tail like a coward, as your nasty post implies.

She knows all about taking a punch and what it is to lose. Did you see her face? Woman v woman fights rarely end up with such injuries. She stayed that she'd never been hit so hard in her life. The second punch broke her nose.

Was Billy Hardy a yellow belly when he retired against Naseem Hemed, with a broken nose?

Frenchsplit · 02/08/2024 22:14

It’s funny how this topic has turned positions in their heads. With supporters of this being a woman citing them being assigned female at birth as proof of their sex
