Angela Carini is the incredibly brave Italian boxer who had her Olympic dream shattered in less than a minute after being punched in the face by Imane Khelif, a male competitor who was disqualified from the women’s World Championships last year because his testosterone levels were too high.
Everyone should be saying her name. Over and over and over again.

#IStandWithAngelaCarini

So glad she did what she did, and am really hoping the other two women refuse to fight. This is ridiculous. I have a trans child mtf and am not anti trans but being a trans woman is not the same biologically as being a woman by birth and this needs to be recognised there is room for everyone but all pretence and nonsense has to be dropped and facts faced to allow this and clearly trans women cannot and should not compete against women.

It's a civil rights ruling that protects sex discrimination (since 1972) in any education setting that receives federal funding. It's how girls are able to access sports programmes and scholarships on an equal footing with boys.

Biden changed it so boys/men can include themselves as female which will destroy sports at that level for girls. I believe he threatened to remove funding for institutions who did not comply.

It's deeply shameful and further evidence Biden is not some great dude people have been hoodwinked into thinking he is.

Women and girls across the US can look forward to the sort of treatment Angela faced today with their President cheering it on.

Yes exactly. Any boy can just say they are a girl and will access all the scholarships and advantages. They just have to say the words. I am a girl

Acees to changing rooms , sponsorships, money.

fucking unbelievable

We need all the real women who are drawn against him/it whatever to withdraw and leave him/it to be awarded a gold medal in an empty arena.

We don’t need to be calling anyone ‘it’. I do not believe anyone with male advantages should be fighting against females, but keep it classy and kind please.

morningtoncrescent62 · 01/08/2024 20:32

I'm glad that the hashtag's trending, but I'm furious and very upset that it's even a thing. There's no way Angela Carini should have been put in that heartbreaking position.

Genuine, Genuine question: how does the President of the United States get captured by this minority of mentally unwell people? I honestly and truly do not get it. I don't think it's popular (see Scotland!) among the electorate so what's in it for him? Grateful for anything to shed light on this.

Firstly because misogyny is so ingrained it renders critical thought impossible somewhere like the US. Secondly a lot of pressure and money from lobbyists pushing this stuff (this is rife in the US) and thirdly in Biden's case his son who died was good friends with a man who claims a female identity so there's probably a lot of emotion tied up in his poor judgement.

If we need a fourth reason I could probably also cite the fact Biden clearly has been having cognitive difficulties for the duration of his term although I think this is actually the least of the reasons.

littlbrowndog · 01/08/2024 20:33

These dudes in USA don’t have to change anything about themselves they just have to say the words I am a girl then they get everything that Title x was about

Biden just said fuck off girls you don’t deserve this

Tandora · 01/08/2024 20:34

This was a boxing match. Both participants, who voluntarily participated in this sporting event are legally recognised women.

Calling this male violence against women is all kinds of discriminatory and makes a mockery of male violence against women.

Thank you. Yes, I don't know much about lobbying in the US apart from money buys influence.

littlbrowndog · 01/08/2024 20:35

My country Scotland was same. But they got stopped in their tracks by the rapist . Thank goodness

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 01/08/2024 20:35

A fifth reason @OvaHere is that there are some in society who lobby for it because over 18s with a prepubescent body would stop all the pesky police interference.

And he did it on his first day in office.

Shame he didn't think abortion rights were as important as enabling boys/men to cheat in sport.

I just lol'd at that picture

Why don't people just believe what their EYES are telling them!

Absolutely ridiculous!!!

Maireanto1 · 01/08/2024 20:36

BBC1 just had a very strong report on about half an hour ago during the Olympics, the rhetoric has definitely changed. I'm sure this is a nod to the anger & disbelief causing shockwaves around the world.
There is no place for men is female sports, toilets, changing rooms, prisons or anything designated for females.
Women are biologically born females, always were, are & will be... mens feelings do not come into the equation here.

Probably worth pointing out that Obama actually set the ball rolling on destroying Title IX he was just disrupted by Trump winning for 4 years. Although I like to think Hillary wouldn't have gone along with it. That's probably wishful thinking though.

Legally these days doesn't mean he is biologically a woman. Goodness some of you lot. Any old peado and man can now call themselves a woman and it will be legal. Do you see where we are heading? Nah, probably not!

That's because abortion rights are women's rights and trans rights are men's 'rights'. Men remained at the front of the queue where they always are.

There's going to be protests in Paris tomorrow. Don't expect the MSM to report on them, but they'll definitely be posted on Twitter. This needs protesting on a worldwide stage.

By whom?

BlueLimeRun · 01/08/2024 20:40

One of the competitors was female, the other has a passport that says he is female but he is biologically male.

He is a man punching a woman in the face, this is VAWG for sport.

It is not discriminatory to be able to recognise biological reality.

What is discriminatory is to allow a male bodied person to box in the female category. It is dangerous and could end in a woman being killed.

You can keep cheering on men's right to do what they like with impunity why don't you. The rest of us are not going to be quiet about it, no matter how much you dislike us telling the truth.

Angela Carini was saying how unfair it was in the ring, it's the height of disingenuousness to say she volunteered for this - to have her nose panned in by a man - just because she's a boxer.

You are as ridiculous as your arguments.

Taking issue with people calling it male violence against women whilst failing to recognise the coercive nature of the women's participation must take some mental gymnastics, if it was an olympic event you'd take gold.

What are the women who have trained for years to earn their place supposed to do? They either compete and risk serious injury (or worse) or they forfeit to avoid injury and sacrifice their hopes of winning a medal.

This is actually one of your more despicable posts.
