Lin Yu-ting and Imane Khelif: Boxers cleared for Paris Olympics - BBC Sport

They are both biological males. Its to IOC, International Olympic committee. There will be a protest and i know another female Irish boxer has pulled out but surely this cant stand. The women could be seriously injured.

Lin Yu-ting and Imane Khelif: Boxers cleared for Paris Olympics

Two athletes are cleared to compete at the women's boxing at the Paris Olympics, having been disqualified from last year's World Championships for failing to meet eligibility criteria.

If you can’t appreciate that these athletes are male by looking at them then I can’t help you
Oh dear, MN is really sinking low on this thread!

Yes, defending men beating up women for sport is a new low.

sonofrageandlove · 01/08/2024 15:03

Disgusting. Can’t believe this is allowed to happen.

You quoted my apology, where I said I had posted incorrectly.

Because you see, I happily admit when I am wrong. I was lazy saying Southport Thugs - because they were thugs, and were in Southport when being thugs.

But you literally quoted my apology where I correctly said they had been bussed in. I simply missed a couple of words out of a sentence.

Again. You QUOTED my apology and correction. But sure, it's me that's ignorant and 'back tracking'.

Again. Go read what you actually quoted originally. Happy to post again using words with single syllables if that would help you.

Proving your ignorance here!

@GeorgeAgdgdgwngo
Firstly the Algerian boxer is not trans, that was never in question nor did the boxer ever claim to be trans. Stop spreading ignorant misinformation.

Secondly it's spelt finally not "finaly"!
Embarrassed for you!

Once upon a time it was common for men to be castrated so that the person who 'owned' them could use them for different purposes. Some were castrated before puberty to preserve a high singing voice: the castrati of the Vatican or opera. Others were castrated as adults to preserve their strength. In China men would often not only be castrated but also have the penis removed.
My point is they were all still men. The castrati who sang opera and in the Vatican were well thought of in society. Well thought of as men. Some eunachs went on to dizzy heights in the government of the time and culture. As men because women were not permitted to do that work.
No one actually believed that they were women because cruelty had caused them to be castrated.
And these boxers are men. Nothing they do turns them into women. A man who is castrated today remains a man. A man who has a DSD is just that. A man with a DSD.
Trying to widen the definition of woman to include men is just not acceptable or accurate. I hope we have reached a watershed moment and the wider population thinks about what this means for women everywhere.

Well I appreciate nobody will give a shiny shit, but I’ve turned the tv off and will watch no more Olympics. I know it’s not much, but what else can I do?

You can get involved with the governing bodies in this country. You can stand to be on their committees. You can create a movement to create fair rules. You can attend meetings with facts and data and present it. You can encourage other women to join you in it.

This is what I did. And why the governing body of the sport I am part of now has very clear rules to keep it fair for women.

There were no fears about legal rammifications as it literally wasn't a concern that she was biologically male despite how they looked.

She has failed an eligability test, and shouldn't be allowed to compete... but to say that before that test based purely on 'how she looks' is frankly disgusting. Plenty of brilliant athletes who maybe do not much up to some percieved ideas of 'feminine looks' - and they shouldn't be descriminated against.

Take the wonderful and beautiful Serena Williams. She's spoken about facing accusations of being born male due to her looks - should she have been banned from competing? Hell, there is even a documentary about it.

Sources:

No need to respond - I'm leaving this thread.

I will respond because you’ll still get the notification regardless. Keep Serena William s name out of your mouth. She’s an actual WOMAN and one of the finest sportsWOMEN into this. She trained since a small child to have the physical strength to achieve what she has. She’s an inspiration. What she would not be able to do though is beat Federer, Nadal or Ducovich because they are men.

You can try and muddy the waters but it doesn’t matter. A woman body builder, a woman butch lesbian, a woman with POC are all WOMEN. Women don’t have to look the same or be stereotypically ‘feminine’ to be WOMEN.

I used to watch Pose and there were some unbelievably feminine looking and woman-passing trans women on there but they were still not biological women. How hard is this for you to understand? Did you even complete basic education?

OuterSpaceCadet · 01/08/2024 15:07

Look at how the actions and lies of men and of male institutions lead to women fighting each other.

Not just here, but other threads about recent devastating events.

Men and their male institutions have created this environment of uncertainty where women all feel unsafe for various reasons. Including those women currently scolding feminists: I think they're driven by a subconscious fear that our words are upsetting men. And if course, they're right to be afraid of upset men, as recent news also demonstrates.

Well originally you referred to the "Southport thugs" which is the height of ignorance. You didn't backtrack until you were called out, obviously you needed to apologise as the majority of the rioters were bussed in.
I will no longer be referring to this as I will not derail the thread as you had intended with your reference to the "Southport thugs".
You admitted you said it due to being "lazy". However vile & disrespectful to the people of Southport to label them thugs.
Shame on you. Apology too little too late.
I won't engage with you again.

Where is your proof that they are biological men? How do you know that they are not intersex? Would you say that an intersex person who outwardly presented and identified as male but had some XX chromosomes amongst some XY chromosomes was biologically female?

People with DSDs are still male or female, they’re not some kind of ‘other’. These two boxers are male.
