To not know how people can afford Heinz Beans?

Well how? My budget will only stretch to supermarket own brand beans, yet everywhere I look people are eating Heinz beans. How do they afford it?

I also often wonder how people afford it. I’ve worked hard all my life and can’t. It’s such a mystery. Surely we all earn exactly the same amount of money with the same outgoings??

Mind you my mates uncle once saw a bag full of Heinz beans being carried into one of those asylum seeker 5 star hotels. He also said they give everyone a can with their weekly benefits in Jaywick. So it’s probably only scroungers who get them.

You know, I'm thinking of moving to Jaywick. They sound like our kind of people.

Is this maybe supposed to be funny? I mean clearly rhe answer is fhey have a higher income than you.

westisbest1982 · 31/07/2024 18:19

Here we go again and the answer is always the same - some people have more money than you have.

Have you read the thread?

Imagine anyone eating baked beans straight from the tin guilty as charged m'Lod . Assuming that's how you know that all these heathens are eating Heinz.

DilemmaDelilah · 31/07/2024 18:23

I used to think Heinz beans were so much nicer than supermarket beans. Then I tried M&S baked beans - I think they are really nice, and only 50p a can!

Emilywiththegreeneyes · 31/07/2024 18:24

😂 to basically everything here

My toddler has been screaming at me for two hours about fucking nonsense. Although I had fobbed him off with some Sainsbury’s own beans so maybe he’s got a point.

I needed this thread, thank you.

Have preferred Branston for years but now buy M&S and they are fab plus the half size tins are still reasonably priced vs large and save waste

WindsurfingDreams · 31/07/2024 18:02

I think some people's parents give them their heinz beans.

And some people skimp and buy cheap bread so they can spend the cash on the beans instead.

True. Personally I worked my arse off to afford mine. Also bought in the 70s before can price rises. But I've at least got something to leave to my children.

BrightLightTonight · 31/07/2024 18:26

I don’t like baked beans

grywknd · 31/07/2024 18:26

It was either the beans or the schooling. I think we made the right choice.

Tagyoureit · 31/07/2024 18:27

They saved the tin and refill it with non brand and then just insta the heniz can!

Sunnydiary · 31/07/2024 18:27

@CoastalCalm

M and S?!!! Well it’s alright for some.

Just try and read the room before posting about your luxury bean consumption eh?

No, they all do it in public to demonstrate their wealth and culinary superiority.

Bean Bastards!

PruneInTheNest · 31/07/2024 18:29

Can’t go wrong with Aldi beans

thefamous5 · 31/07/2024 18:29

Only fans.

Great way to afford a Heinz beans habit.

(Apparently. I'm. It talking from experience. I'm an Aldi own brand bean budget kinda girl)

loudbatperson · 31/07/2024 18:30

We always get the M&S ones. 50p a tin. It's not even a budgeting choice for us they just taste far superior.

AntoinetteCurtain · 31/07/2024 18:30

I afford my heinz baked beans by only consuming 2 beans with every meal, I just can't believe the size of appetites some people have these days, sure, if you've been very active, maybe 6 beans, but a whole tin!? No wonder obesity rates are sky rocketing.

You could if you stuck them in your eyes.

RabbitsRock · 31/07/2024 17:49

DH prefers Heinz & I get them from FarmFoods when there’s an offer on. Tescos are nice & apparently they’re made by Heinz. Haven’t tried Branstons but several of my customers recommend them.

I doubt Tesco beans are Heinz, find them v watery and lacking in taste, unless that what Heinz beans taste like now? Branston are the best imo.

I bet they're massive beans though? And you use the leftovers to make pie, risotto and shepherd's pie later in the week
