Controlling for being angry at DH using oven

Dh likes to eat healthily which means he never fries any food. Even the 1 cal spray is not acceptable. Fine.

But DH knows I’m very funny about the heat. Hate it and do very well to keep a cool house. I’m the person who goes around closing curtains, opening windows at the optimal time to keep things cool.

Just got off a work call to a sauna downstairs. DH has made himself a fry up (chicken sausages, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes). The kitchen is reading 26c - it was 22.5c when I looked at around 12 pm.

I told dh that this was really selfish behaviour. And now I’ve been called controlling.

I feel this thread is the stuff of legends - it will be talked about on mumsnet in years to come.

CAlling it controlling is taking it too far. I would call him inconsiderate as he clearly gave no thought to the impact what he was doing would have. I think the manner in which he is asked to try and keep the dogs cool by minimising use of heating equipment makes a difference. Making it clearly about the dogs and the cost of having to use the vets if animals overheat and get ill and not to mention the cruelty is the issue at hand here.

But also yes maybe look at solutions rather than slinging insults.

Oh for heaven's sake. He used the oven for 40 minutes in a range cooker which will be well-insulated. Not inconsiderate in the least (except in not making OP some food). OP is maybe not controlling but she has some issues about being in control.

There's no cooking facilities in my workplace so I'm tucking in to a ham sad.

So, @SharpOliveHam out of 3467 voters, just 208 thought your chicken sausage guzzling 'aul fella was in the wrong for making himself Home on the Range(Master).

That feels like pretty compelling evidence that you might have a teensy issue with control. My question is, will you be issuing an apology to him or will you be letting the double-coated hounds loose?

How do you think dogs cope in countries where it’s a lot hotter, for longer! If your dogs aren’t using the cooking mat, I’d say they have decided they are perfectly cool enough.

Good lord don't encourage the dogs to start cooking their lunch too . 😮

Or do you mean the mats are used to cook dogs ?
Then yes they may get a tad warm 😂

Now if her fella had cooked the dogs she might have a complaint to make

Not sure the frozen towels would have made a difference after though...

Of course you're being weird and unreasonable!
