toddler eaten contents of herb rack - I think this is harmless?

No spices have been eaten, which would be a bit different. They have eaten rosemary, thyme and sage - I don't think there is anything to worry about there, is there? Not my toddler! Not my house!

Not on moving day, no. Because they can't just leave exposed wires when they move out. Anyone wanting to swap out fittings will do it before moving out day.

. It's a pretty quick job tbh.

But I'll remember that if I move. Not to be done on moving day. 😂👍🏻

Crack on. Why save yourself some time by doing it another day when you can just dick around with the electrics on the day you're to get out of the house.

Anyway, if it's such a quick job, it's unlikely to be the reason the OP's friend's electricity was apparently off all day 🤷‍♀️

AutumnFroglets · 29/07/2024 10:02

@sunglassesonthetable out of curiosity why are you so invested in this thread that you are now making up different scenarios that the OP hasn't even mentioned?

It is bad enough the OP has to trawl through unhelpful posts regarding the herbs without having to trawl through your many, many, unhelpful posts. So why do it?

It's pretty irrelevant really isn't it.

She didn't say all day. And you don't really have all day when you're trying to find out info in that situation.

I think OPs over with this thread. Read their posts.

I'm not making up scenarios.

I am invested though. 🤷‍♀️

Unknownsecret · 29/07/2024 10:26

It’s very weird as an initial basic search tells you sage and rosemary can be dangerous in large quantities 🤷‍♀️ OP could have found that out in seconds, so no idea why the need for a thread 🤔

DBD1975 · 29/07/2024 11:22

For something like this I would suggest ringing 111 not relying on Mumsnet.

No you dont, I turn off the internet on my phone to use whattsapp.

Anyway, the situation is that a mother on moving day with no electricity and no internet has used whats app and data to try and find out if any of these herbs are worrying, as her toddler has eaten them.

If you have an answer, to the actual question, I would be grateful. As far as I can see, googling ,the answer is no, nothing to worry about. But if anyone has any actual personal knowledge, I would be grateful

What you mean is you turn off your WiFi. Your phone will then connect to the internet (the internet and WiFi are two different things) via your mobile data. You cannot use WhatsApp without an internet connection.

BobbyBiscuits · 29/07/2024 19:43

@MereDintofPandiculation I'd imagine it would seem bizarre to someone who eats a lot of poppy seed bread, when they get fired from their job for being a junkie!?

alloweraoway · 28/07/2024 17:23

I dont know why all these posts! I certainly use whatsapp all the time without internet. In fact I turn off the internet on my phone to use it at work, as it doesn't work very well on the work internet.

What you are actually doing is using the 3G or 4G signal on your phone which is still the Internet….just not going through a Router

mixedpeel · 29/07/2024 23:16

Why do all the people who know about WiFi and 4G/5G not understand that in a very long thread their point might already have been made? Doesn’t take long to read a little further to find out if your pearl of wisdom has been deposited by someone else already.

How did they get unsupervised access and the time to do it?

Don’t you mean the thyme to do it? Probably from the kitchen I would have thought.

I just googled it too, found the same, in seconds

He came home yesterday. He is fine. That will be a moving day no one ever forgets

I once ate a load of herbs when I was young. Apparently, I started singing Gee Gees songs ...

That's good news and thanks for the update.

And this is why toddlers should never be left unattended even for a minute. They are feral buggers 😂

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/07/2024 23:50

Dried herbs would be harmless as they're difficult to eat, unpleasant texture.

Fresh is a different matter and I am not surprised if a kids had masticated/ripped up rosemary around their mouth, they've got red spots where the oils from it have sat on the skin.

You'd have got safer and more useful responses if you'd actually had the full details and spoken to 111 or/and googled those actual details, rather than feed inaccurate details to folks on MN.

Tbf you can't "rip up" rosemary. It's like pine needles

Isittimeformynapyet · 30/07/2024 18:44

alloweraoway · 29/07/2024 07:05

well this rack is for fresh herbs and goes in the fridge.

You'll say anything now just to avoid acknowledging that your information has been extremely misleading.

🙋🏼‍♀️I do

tbh you'll say anything now because this thread is so cringe.

How to miss the point, make assumptions and nit pic over irrelevancies.

If she's posting on WhatsApp and looking things up on her phone she has internet 🙄

some providers include whatsap for "free" so if you had no data for the wider internet, you'd still be able to chat on this

Sugarsugarahhoneyhoney · 06/08/2024 15:13

I reckon this was for the new Aldi advert!
