toddler eaten contents of herb rack - I think this is harmless?

No spices have been eaten, which would be a bit different. They have eaten rosemary, thyme and sage - I don't think there is anything to worry about there, is there? Not my toddler! Not my house!

Yes, which you can access through your data, not WiFi. Not sure what that’s hard to understand?

Don't think OP's bothered about the internet wifi Wap thing tbh. That's her friend's nonissue. @BitOutOfPractice

Just mumsnetters very agitated about it.

BitOutOfPractice · 28/07/2024 23:34

I know that @sunglassesonthetable You know that. The op knows that 🙂

yet still people keep tagging me and quoting my post from yesterday. It’s starting to grate!

Dried herbs would be harmless as they're difficult to eat, unpleasant texture.

Fresh is a different matter and I am not surprised if a kids had masticated/ripped up rosemary around their mouth, they've got red spots where the oils from it have sat on the skin.

You'd have got safer and more useful responses if you'd actually had the full details and spoken to 111 or/and googled those actual details, rather than feed inaccurate details to folks on MN.

Where have I fed inaccurate details to anyone? I did google, and 111 is useless. I just got the internet and wifi thing accidently wrong thats all, nothing else

Not until your last post, previous to your reply to me, do you make it clear this is fresh herbs from the fridge, not dried herbs from the herb/spice rack.

That alters the risk level considerably.

You said "herb rack" in your thread title. Which to the majority of people is those small pots of dried herbs. No one keeps fresh herbs on a "rack". They're in the fridge or on a windowsill.

Greenlittecat · 29/07/2024 07:05

Glad he's being kept in for observation, that must have been scary.

Not a standard thing. It doesn't give all the info people needed to give proper opinions.

Maybe you didn’t, but poster after poster here were saying that a child couldn’t eat loads of dried herbs, that it would be impossible, and at no point did you say they were not dried

sunglassesonthetable · 29/07/2024 08:26

Poster after poster were banging on about the friend's bloody internet.

The whole dried herb taking the piss went big after OP said the toddler was being taken to A&E.

But yeah OP is at fault. Because the weapons on here were running away with themselves on here having a lovely time being superior on a presumption.

Google found this which goes in the fridge. OP was asked on page 1 if the herbs were fresh or dried and didn't reply or correct all the replies referring to dried herbs.

OP: Child ate the contents of the herb rack will they be ok?

Many posters: were they dried herb? Would be difficult if imagine but can't cause much harm.

OP: (ignoring the references to dried) kids in A&E now.

Posters thinking it's dried herbs: bit OTT?

OP: Well apparently fresh herbs are a different thing you see. (First reference)

The post header says spice rack and who puts a playpen near a fridge? Sorry but I don't buy it.

sunglassesonthetable · 29/07/2024 08:57

well if you think that's how the 'opinions' went @IpsyUpsyDaisyDoos you need to have another look.

What you wouldn't be emptying your fridge when you move house?

😂

alloweraoway · 29/07/2024 08:59

what I have learnt from this thread, is that there are a small number of kind posters, and if you are hoping for advice, you have to search through a lot of nasty posts to find it, but that is probably isn't worth it if you are worried or upset.

Perhaps you need to re read the ops responses to see the contradictions.

Not buying it

Love it. " herb rack " conspiracy theorists 😂

Toddler eats herbs during moving chaos. Mum with no wifi/electricity ( cos she's moving ) contacts others for advice.

SO ORDINARY

Cue intense discussion about Wapp/Internet
Cue taking the piss about herbs / A&E
Now Rack-gate

She was probably emptying her fridge. As you do! 🤦‍♀️
