To have allowed my dc watch the Olympic opening ceremony?

I was shocked at the library scene leading to a threesome.

The mocking of Christians in the last supper scene.

The feminization of males & the sheer number of transvestites on parade. And a child thrown in the midst of them.

This is a sporting event, why the need to have it so highly sexulaised? My dc were thankfully howling with laughter at parts "the smurf man" singing (complete with his painted bulge) had us all in stitches.

I feel there was a social conditioning agenda to the opening ceremony & it was completely inappropriate given that it is for family viewing. Sexulaised behaviour should not be displayed to children.

but I’m trying to mention that there is biology outside a gender binary

It's the sex binary, and no there isn't. Disorders of sex development aren't a third sex, and everyone has a sex.

JohnSt1 · 29/07/2024 00:23

I think it's a bit of a stretch to equate a depiction of the Greek god of partying to the Last Supper.

It was people dancing beside a fashion runway. They weren't even sitting at a table.

There happened to be a child right next to this man in tights & knickers at the time of his wardrobe malfunction. That child should not have been in the midst of transvestites in such a bizarre environment. I hope safeguarding are investigating. Why was the child needed in the scene? Who seemed it appropriate? The environment was no place for a child especially when placed beside the barechested man with a face full of make up in tights & knickers. Lo & behold he has a "malfunction". Not a good look right beside a child. Own goal for the woke agenda. This has all backfired so spectacularly 😁

@HolyGround13 you mention safeguarding comes up in your job. This is the third time I've asked for your opinion on the young child stood in the midst of the transvestites & beside the man in tights, knickers, bare chested with his full face of make up on & his "wardrobe malfunction"? Is this a suitable environment for a young child? Why are you avoiding this question? 🤔

@HolyGround13

Don't presume to force team me into your ideological beliefs about "gender". Men do not belong in women's spaces, it's not a trans thing, it's a man thing. Statistically men are a risk to women. And your twee platitudes also ignore that it's an issue of privacy and dignity for women.

How on earth did I force team you? If you mean by my use of the word “also” I was listing things I care about simultaneously.

I am not presuming anything. As I mentioned earlier, I believe men are a risk to women. You were so focused on my use of the word “cisgender” that we then went all round the houses arguing definitions.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/07/2024 00:27

I believe men are a risk to women.

Yes, you'd have to have been living under a rock not to. All men. Men as a sex, not an "identity".

It was a run in his tights that showed about 5cm of thigh skin instead of see-through tights. Again, makeup, shorts and a small patch of thigh wouldn’t be prompting this reaction if it were a female dancer - just because you want to regress us all back to more rigid gender norms doesn’t mean everyone wants that.

Unclutch your pearls and stop trying to enforce your gender obsession on the world.

Hi, not avoiding, just cross posting. As you can see, my last pot was pretty lengthy.

Is it suitable for a child to be dancing next to a bare chested man who then has a wardrobe malfunction. I can’t imagine it coming up at work! I’d be questioning when and where and if the answer was “on TV during a dance performance” I’d maybe ask further about the child’s role and where their guardians were etc, but I wouldn’t say it’s inappropriate for an opening ceremony, no.

Have you seen my mention of the child rapist who is actually competing at the games?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/07/2024 00:28

Pretending that there's a distinction between "cisgender" men and "trans women" is what I objected to.

Yes & I'm horrified at that. It is wrong on every single level to let that man compete. I completely, 100% agree with you. How was it allowed?! I was hoping fellow teammates & competitors would boycott.

No I believe the scene the child was placed in was bizarre & inappropriate. The child was surrounded by male transvestites. It was deeply uncomfortable to watch for me & I would never allow my dc into such an environment.

Tights and knickers and bare chests at the Olympics!? And they allow children in the audience? I heard some of the men even do the BREAST stroke as an obvious attempt to mock women. How could this be allowed on my TV?

To have allowed my dc watch the Olympic opening ceremony?

Can you understand why I feel some frustration that there has been so much emphasis on the drag element of the ceremony and such a lack of reaction about his inclusion? I feel uneasy that our society is very quick to call out the drag acts and the only reaction to the convicted man was booing!

What you would or wouldn’t want your own kids involved in is fair enough. I tried to find out more about that child (is she a dancer, is she a competition winner etc) but couldn’t see much. Perhaps that is for her protection.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/07/2024 00:41

There hasn't been a lack of reaction to the rapist that I've seen. Paula Radcliffe supported him on Twitter (fuck knows why) and got a lot of flak. If people were actually booing him in person, that's quite intense, what else can they do, riot? But yes, obviously he shouldn't have been allowed to participate.

I’d be tempted to throw something personally, but no doubt I’d get a longer sentence than he did for that.

I mean I was hoping their team would lose sponsorships and some pressure would be applied so he didn’t get picked, but not much anyone can do at this stage, as you say.

Thankfully this male born person who goes by the name of "Lia Thomas" has been banned from competing in the women's events 😁 Thank God children in the audience won't witness the ridiculous. Common sense prevailed & the world will demand more & buckle down harder after the ridiculous opening ceremony!

Does anyone know if L. Thomas qualified for the US men's Olympic swimming team 🤔😂

I tried to do the same but there is no information online about the child.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about the rapist. It's getting more & more common that the time does not match the crime especially in cases of paedophilia. It is beyond the pale that he is competing, his federation, government & teammates should never have even entertained the idea never mind select him for the team.. Even the case itself was so premeditated, his intent was well planned out.. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Lia Thomas has never even competed at an international level or Olympic trials. How does she seem relevant to a dance performance at opening ceremonies? Or address any of the points I’ve made?

Or do you just like to look at photos of trans people so much you can’t help yourself but bring up them up constantly?

You appear to be the one bringing transgender people into the conversation,
Deliberately
Everyone else was discussing the Christian aspect and the high level of drag queens in this section of the show.

Thankfully Lia is not competing, but there are two men competing in the women's boxing (BOXING) and a guy on one of the women's football teams. There may be more, I don't know.

Yes, it appears that the IOC's new approach is to still allow males to compete as women but to ask the worldwide media not to say that they are male.

So what they have learned from Tokyo is that male athletes competing in women's categories goes down like a cup of cold sick with most of the world, who don't see this as progressive at all (so we won't be seeing any more "stunning and brave" Laurel Hubbard style reporting") but that's not a good enough reason for them to ban it.

Get your facts straight. Thomas absolutely planned to try out for the Olympic team. You posted a picture of swimmers & I replied that thankfully the audience including children will not be subjected to the sight of Thomas in the women's competition. I'm delighted that common sense won out here & in the athletics but it's not nearly enough. There is a lot of work to be done but the Olympic ceremony has really woken the world up 😁

Trans swimmer Lia Thomas' Olympic hopes are dashed after a losing legal battle

Thomas made history in 2022, becoming the first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming championship.

You said Thomas never competed internationally however Thomas had every intention of attempting to get a Olympic spot even going as far as taking legal action.
Why didn't Thomas tryout for the men's team you know in it's actual birth sex category. If Thomas had been so desperate to go to the Olympics that's what needed to be done 🤣🤣 Women's sports, spaces, prisons & private areas for biological females only thank you!
