Perhaps women aren't cut out to be on the front line?

Footage of the female officers at the attempted assassination of Trump, and of the scenes at Manchester Airport makes me think that perhaps we're not best suited in those situations.

Would those four violent men have dared attack male officers in the same way?

People hate to hear it but it’s true, there are jobs women can’t and shouldn’t attempt to do in the name of “equality”.
Well a lot of women couldn't, not all women! As an ex soldier was saying the other day, if there's a war and I need to be dragged off the field, I'd be a bit worried if there isn't a muscled up man ready to do it. It's very true

LoobyDoop2 · 25/07/2024 17:40

Schools on holiday and Andrew Tate presumably not producing any new content.

I honestly wonder what sort of rarified world some people live in where they think that women can't do hard physical work.

I've worked on farms and in gardens all my life and the women in these professions carry out the same chores in the same conditions as the men. Handling large, dangerous animals, lifting, out in all weathers doing proper grunt work. Our bins are emptied by women, a woman sweeps the streets in my local town. Women are war reporters, medics in war torn areas, working on construction sites across the world.

If you only mix in circles where you see women in heels filing their nails then this is the nonsense you believe.

Who are these people who think women can't perform equally with (if not better than) men? Obviously not their employers or they wouldn't be paying them to do the job.

PinkArt · 25/07/2024 17:44

You're right, they should all be at home making sandwiches for the big strong men.

This is an interesting read for anyone who wants to know what women are capable of.

Interesting first post.

You’re aware that people can name change right?

Then don’t apply for those kinds of jobs? They don’t play to the strengths of lots of men either.

With Donald Trump, I’m not sure being male or female has any protective effect on gunshot wounds.

You’re right, it didn’t.

However I must admit, when they were shuffling him to the car, I covered my face in disbelief because his head and upper body were completely exposed. This was because the two female agents were not tall enough to cover him.

theworldsmad · 25/07/2024 17:47

Well physically woman aren't as strong as men, that's just a biological fact. I don't thi k we belong there either, but everyone will shout sexist!

Ive worked in stables and done hard physical work too but I’m not physically strong and that was the same as most of the women in the yard.

In work (another job) on a team building thing we did a tug of war and most of the teams sucked except for a few standouts.

Also on nights out myself and friends have discussed things we were embarrassed not to have been able to do. I HATE HATE HATE it-but eg when I strim the garden/ mow the lawn my arms reverberate for DAYS, my husband is a bit sore if he does tons more than that. I went to a technical college and a lot of women ended up giving up eg plumbing and building jobs because they were like ‘fuck this, my body isn’t going to manage this for long’ A huge percentage of women are not physically strong enough to do certain jobs easily. And if you can’t do a life saving job easily I think it’s questionable that you be there

MixedCouple2 · 25/07/2024 17:50

Seeing the footage of man attacking 2 female officers at his home. The mad man was able to get one female officer down and slash at her and the 2nd female officer had no strength to stop it or/and remove him.
It is a no brainer.

See I thought that if the man had any sense at all, rather than standing up tall punching the air and waving his head around to be shot at he should have taken shelter amongst the men (who were as tall as him as we've seen in the photo on this thread) and the women who were there to shield him.

Concernedpasserby · 25/07/2024 17:50

Women bring a lot to the front line. Without generalising or reinforcing stereotypes women tend to be less reactively aggressive and can often calm a situation. I think violent men are actually usually more likely to attack a male officer than a female. At Manchester airport there hadalready been a fight between male passengers.

The sex of trumos protection had nothing to do with that incident. The issue was planning and intervention mostly by men.

The problem is people using the injured female officer as a reason for the male officers reaction and justification. Its nonsense.
When really we should be saying look how the female officers are NOT kicking the man on the floor despite being injured.

User135644 · 25/07/2024 17:51

Watching your female coworker get their face smashed in will also be rage induing to male officers which contributes to that reaction.

You need the best person for the job, whoever that is. DEI doesn't work on some front line situations. You need to be able to physically handle yourself and not have standards lowered to tick boxes.

Nope but better suited to supportive roles in these areas.

This isn’t an either or thing, it’s not a get thee back to the 50s if we acknowledge some jobs don’t suit women!!!

Because the male police officer stamping on the head of someone already contained and on the ground is a great example of modern policing.

My thoughts exactly!

Were there female secret service agents working when JFK was killed in 1963? I doubt it. On your logic, men aren’t up to the job either.

Probably because they were in on it.

Then I guess you're not the sort of person who would take that kind of job.

It's self selecting.
I mowed, gardened, farmed day in day out for decades and so have many of the women I've worked with with no hurty lady arms.

God it makes me sigh to read such pathetic nonsense.
If you can you do. If you can't you do something else.

Suppprtive roles!!! Oh how quaint!! Can I earn half the salary and get my arse slapped with that too?? 🤞

The bosses that employ them obviously don't think so.
Bosses love throwing money at people who can't do the job they pay them for.

Women can be on the frontline, just not in high-risk professions like policing and security, in my opinion. We live in a much more violent society these days, hence police carry tasers and CS gas. They used to just have a pair of handcuffs, a baton, a whistle and a notebook. The whistle was used to alert other constables in the area during a time when they mostly did foot patrols. Now with less officers, wider areas to cover and intelligence led policing, they have fleets of patrol cars. Policing has adapted to modern society, and that adaption reflects how volatile society has become.

Women wanted equality in the work place, which meant getting jobs in professions that are mostly male-dominated. Women got what they wanted.

tinytemper66 · 25/07/2024 18:03

I have been in school when there have been fights and there have been no male staff around or willing to help. I have broken up many a fight at less than 5 feet tall. Size isn't everything...

But women are in front line jobs like the police, the fire brigade, security and the armed forces. They evidently can do the jobs.

Yes women wanted equality in the workplace. That's very true.

To the extent that they can’t control themselves and have to kick someone in the head when they are lying on the ground? Doesn’t sound like the best person for the job to me.
