Perhaps women aren't cut out to be on the front line?

Footage of the female officers at the attempted assassination of Trump, and of the scenes at Manchester Airport makes me think that perhaps we're not best suited in those situations.

Would those four violent men have dared attack male officers in the same way?

Do you remember that the Paris bombing and a few others around that time could only be carried out because the men didn't follow procedures? While women are being promoted because they give BJs to the bosses, then we'll have fuck ups. We need a mix of people in the planning and operational force.

While women are being promoted because they give BJs to the bosses

What does this mean?

mansviewpoint · 25/07/2024 16:26

I really suggest that women make better police officers in general. Yes in terms of physical the average man can have more strength than the average woman, but an average man against a trained woman??? Not a chance. Batons hurt, so do tazers, let alone a kick in the nuts. The difference is down to mentality. Women who are fearful of getting hit perhaps don't stop the attack in time, because they may try to run, but apart from that, I've been absolutely decked by a police woman. (We were doing self defence classes for teenage girls) and I was "the agressor".. before people think I've got some seedy past.

Id have to complete disagree, even with a trained female. Males' upper bodies, on average, have 75% more muscle mass and 90% more strength than females'.

For your everyday female officer, even if fit the difference is pretty dammed high. there may be outliers for for this to the the average or normal no chance.

For all those saying they are able to be as physically able to restrain or control a violent male criminal or combatants in most circumstances. I'm sure you are all happy for males to be placed in female categories' for sport also.

Why males pack a powerful punch

Elk have antlers. Rams have horns. In the animal kingdom, males develop specialized weapons for competition when winning a fight is critical. Humans do too, according to new research. Fighting may have long been a part of our evolutionary history.

@andsisters Fully agree with you in some circumstances.

As in on the front line within the military, Infantry and front line fighting force is no place for a woman for a whole bunch of different reasons.

The female bodyguards for Trump were woefully inadequate and should never have been placed in that role. They did not possess the adequate height, strength or skills to ensure trump was secure went down on the ground and sayed their until he was in a position to remove him from the situation.

As for police if they can pass the male physical fitness test then I have no problems, but the simple fact is that they will always antagonise male criminals who will see no authority in a female. that is not victim blaming the officers its a simple matter of fact.

Front line staff often need to have an intimidating and forceful presence when needed in some situations and no matter how you feel about equality, to criminals and people who are of that mindset I'm afraid the equality card has ZERO part to play, it's a fact and you cant discount facts because you want all things to be equal or they hurt you feelings.

It isn't a fact though is it. Have you ever been on the frontline in a hostile situation? I doubt it, so please do one with your 'facts'.

Obviously but that's more of an equal playing field.

If someone was attacking me, I would want a man defending me. Personally.

Let’s hope you’re not a cop then. I’ve seen several female colleagues be much more use in a fight than male colleagues. Stop stereotyping.

Wow, clearly a topic you know fuck all about.... 😂😂😂

Trump had one female SS agent, who was the first to react to his injury and on removing him from the stage had her head over the gap in his body armour. Read that again. Her head.

There were plenty of male agents with her who did absolutely fuck all including not protecting the terribly tall orange man from any headshots - were they also a problem to you?

Women officers tend not to have trouble with men ignoring authority. Authority comes from credibility. I've yet to see a female officer being ignored any more than a male officer once they take control of a situation. Situations cannot always be controlled immediately, sometimes they deteriorate, sometimes they are already fucked when you arrive, but in the end it should finish with the police having regained control of it.

Astonishingly in England and Wales in 2023 there were 73,300 male police officers to 42,621 female. Why then, if so incompetent, do we not see daily videos of women cocking it all up for the nice competent men?

Sitting in an office with a wine list ready for dinner plans with fellow RAF?

Or under fire in Afghanistan while living in a ditch with fellow Army bods?

Anyone can claim anything while online, eh?

I don't believe work like that plays into women's strong point at all

So what is women's strong point then, in your opinion? It sounds as though we only have one. I hope it's a good one!

Well clearly a topic you know fuck all about either, you see that very clear picture of Trumps face that is exactly what is wrong. 🙄

Perhaps women aren't cut out to be on the front line?

Yep, look at her. She is leaning into his chest and covering the gap under the arms. Watch as she helps grapple him off stage - she is covering that section the whole time with her head, OK and her shoulders as well.

Trump didn't want to be moved and had to be forced down and forced off the stage - I don't see you critiquing the (at least) four men in that picture?

In a hand-to-hand physical fight mostly men will beat women. Fortunately, soldiers, government agents and police officers today have a range of weapons and tools that mean it rarely comes down to this. Ultimately, a bullet is no respecter of sex or gender and many police officers of both sexes have sustained injuries. The last few deaths have been of male officers by the way.

As for the other side of the argument, the evidence base actually shows that women are consistently better than men at risk assessment, so...

This is a question about temperament and ability far more than sex.

But the vast majority of trumps security team were men so men aren't up to it either because all the men ignored being told there was a shooter on the roof? Your logic only would make sense of it was an all woman team. Trump actually praised the female member of his team after the attempt on his life

People probably said exactly this about women becoming doctors back in less enlightened times.

Nobodywouldknow · 25/07/2024 17:31

I’m confused about the Manchester thing. There were male and female officers aplenty and it all seemed to be a shitshow. However the one committing gross misconduct and a criminal offence by kicking a prone and unarmed man in the head was male. How was that the fault of the female officers? When you refer to the violent men, do you mean the male police officers or the suspects.

It’s funny how there’s all these stereotypes about women being too emotional, too weak or whatever to do jobs like policing but the vast vast majority of total utter cock ups on the job are by men. They’re also the ones who brutalise victims and suspects, even commit murder.

As for the burning building, I don’t give a shit who carries me out frankly.

Some people on here remind me of someone I went to school with who said she needed a male driving instructor because women are shit drivers and too hysterical. It’s been proven so so many times that women are safer drivers than men. I stopped speaking to her when she said that as I realised what an idiot she was.

stayathomer · 25/07/2024 17:31

When Trump lifted his arm, he knocked the female officer off balance. This could have led to him being hit again (apparently protocol dictates he shouldn't have been allowed stand up) They need to have people (men or women) who physically can hold their own if something happens. And sorry but in most cases I'd guess a man would be the better option on the basis of physical strength

Women outperform men in shooting all types of guns. Don’t believe me, watch the Olympics. We just have better aim.

Yup and lawyers and politicians. Apparently having a uterus means that one’s brain doesn’t work properly.

Also people who say women are more emotional make me laugh because it’s not usually women who get so wound up that they punch a work colleague or start public disorder because their favourite sports team lost.
