I love a relationship debate.

So here's another.

Why aren't you single?

I am - because the alternative options I have come across recently aren't very appealing.

Likewise.

I was single after the horrible experience of exH suddenly leaving after 20 years of marriage and 2 dc. After a few years of being single and by then, happy single, a friend suggested that I would get on well with one of her male friends from college days as we seemed to have similar interests. I thought some companionship would be welcime. Companionship became love. We are both in our early 50’s.

Offensive answer: Have you seen the fish in the sea out there when you're 40?!

Honest answer: I made my bed

Actual honest answer: I'd miss my cats, and they'd probably go with my DP

I have just had a couple of days holiday with just eldest dd , when I got back I was literally running from the bus stop to get home to see dp , I love him so much .

I love him. And I have realised how amazing he is when my dad has been unwell lately. I always think he is sexy

Brilliant, how lucky you are! I've never had that experience

A few years ago I would have said it is because we love each other, enjoy doing many things together, talk to each other and sex is amazing.
Now I am with her because I still love her despite her dementia, incontinence and constant demands
Love is amazing.

This is lovely. I hope your wife still knows how loved she is. Take care x

From childhood I wanted to marry and have a family, be a teacher, be a writer. I've achieved all three.
We met in 1971 and knew within a couple of weeks that we were right for each other. No doubt in our minds at all. And we still feel the same after 50 years being married. Best thing we ever did.

BeyondOlympicLevelProcrastinator · 08/08/2024 20:05

I'm not sure. I wanted to be, but DP just kinda didn't leave 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fantastic, much deserved

I happened to meet my best person at school and after we got together at 16 he just carried on being lovely and making me happy. We've weathered a lot of storms together and it's always better with DP there. I was lucky, basically. We grew up together instead of growing apart and got very good at communicating with each other.

Truly wonderful to hear stories like this.
Wishing you many more years together
