Sil asking inappropriate questions

My 11yr old son had a sleep over with his cousins at my sil's. The next day she told me, whilst giggling, she'd asked him if he was attracted to boys. I was shocked and she assured me people are more accepting of gay people. My son was only 11 last month and just finishing primary school this week. He will be loved regardless but he's still a child! Am I overreacting being unhappy she's brought this up with him at such a young age, or at all?!

yes but its not HER business.

Yes, you’re quite right. I guess I try to look for the good in people, thinking this was an auntie so it’s possible it didn’t come about in such a creepy way. But yeah, you are right. I’ve a straight kid and a gay one and it’s incredibly odd (fucking weird), how interested adults are in that.

Isn't 11 a little too young to discuss sexual orientation? He is a kid, let him worry about kid things.

SIL out of line. Just tell her once, and if she crosses the line again, escalate.

Oh my goodness!!! Why on earth would your SIL think it was appropriate to ask your son, if he's gay?!!! She embarrassed him, and she must have known her question would make him feel uncomfortable, and then found his obvious discomfort amusing. What a terrible thing to do to a child, ask an awkward question, knowing she'd embarrass him. Why?! For her own warped entertainment?! She needs speaking too.
