3yo DD keeps saying something really weird

I have a 3 year old (4 in sept) who I shared 50:50 custody with my ex.
she’s started a weird exchange a few times that goes
“hey mummy, guess what”
”what”
”AIDs” then she’ll giggle.
my response is always “that’s an odd thing to say?” Or something similar. Tonight I texted my ex about it and he said “yeah 😂”
turns out he’s been saying it to her? I’ve said I don’t find it appropriate and wouldn’t want her saying it to the childminder or other children. He called me “moral high ground grand wizard” and attacked me basically.
I will say, he’s a teacher, we’re 33. It just seems like such a juvenile joke that isn’t appropriate and is offensive?
was I BU bringing it up? Am I overreacting and this is hilarious?

@nellyroser ok report away.
By the way - I have an autistic 16 year old too so I know plenty about struggles.
I still don't think jokes about AIDS are funny in the slightest though.
(or the "oh so hilarious" laxative story on your other thread)

You both sound immature. Why are you also teaching your daughter to say silly things?

I think Theres a difference between “trumpaloompa” and “AIDS” but sure.

I think he had done this exchange with her like
him “ hey DD guess what”
DD “what”
him “AIDS”
because they way she says it is like his “joke voice” in a similar way?

Thanks for explaining, and I can see that this is difficult for you.

I'm just wondering if there's more to this?

If I'd said to any of my kids as toddlers, 'Hey, guess what? AIDS' - they wouldn't have understood a joke? It would just have been a word to them.

Your ex hasn’t got any wild ideas about becoming a stand up comic has he.

🤣🤣🤣

That's just weird! & him being a Teacher too.

If my Child ever asked us to 'Guess what' we'd answer them 'Tatypot' was just a daft saying we said that we'd all laugh at. Try saying it to your DD when she asks you 'Guess What' it'll not give her the chance to say anything if you reply to her before she says anything.
