Is this dress a bit “much” for a wedding?

Dress code for the wedding is cocktail/black tie. I think it suits me (size 10/decent boobs). SIL thinks it’s great. MIL asked if I would be comfortable. DP said it’s very “different”.

I really liked the first dress on you so this new one is boring imo. But it's a safer option.

It’s too ‘look at me’ for a wedding. Fine for a party.

It actually doesn't look dressy enough to me... Sorry. I have a dress like that which I wear to the beach. And it's very black for a wedding.

New dress looks lovely but I do think a more interesting colour would be better - e.g. dark red or emerald green. It's a beautiful cut and fit though

The first one is miles nicer! Just wear it

So it definitely showed off my boobs! But the dress was dark and the bottom half just felt huge and like it was hanging off me. Not as smooth and structured like the photo. Sort of like an old school ball gown, if that makes sense, but midi length. Would have needed a lot of glamming up with hair, makeup and accessories.
