I’m 5 ft 3. Hair as long as models so back is typically covered. Worn with flat nude sandals so very casual.

I don't really understand the question, surely anything goes??
Was there an incident?

OrlandointheWilderness · 03/07/2024 13:49

Yes. It's a back! I'm not getting why it wouldn't be.

PantsAcademy · 03/07/2024 13:50

I don't see why not!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 03/07/2024 13:50

Sure? I can’t say I’ve ever noted or cared what another parent / carer wore at pickup.

MK19590 · 03/07/2024 13:50

I didn't realise there was a dress code for school pick ups

DreadPirateRobots · 03/07/2024 13:51

It's school pickup, not a cathedral wedding or an awards ceremony..? Anything that doesn't constitute public indecency is fine.

Collard · 03/07/2024 13:51

Comment from dh. Showed friends said dress. And someone said they would have thrown on a jacket.

Didn’t realise this was Saudi Arabia

Yes, it's fine. We have a mum who is about 40yo (same as I am), really tall who frequently wears booty shorts and a crop top to pick up. Nobody cares 🤷‍♀️

Katemax82 · 03/07/2024 13:52

It looks like the sort of thing a lot of mums wear in warm weather. Me included

AmelieTaylor · 03/07/2024 13:52

Why not?

it's a dress not a bikini,

do women really put thought into 'school run' clothing?? I go as I am. I only change if I've realised I've slopped my coffee down my front or if the baby has puked on me.

nonevernotever · 03/07/2024 13:53

Yeah you have a DH problem not a dress problem

Well no I didn’t put any thought into outfit hence why it didn’t cross my mind to consider this inappropriate

I've seen mum's doing the pick up in pyjamas and dressing gowns before now 🤣🤣

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 03/07/2024 13:54

There’s no dress code afaik!

looks totally suitable for a hot day.
DH and friends are at fault

Bignanna · 03/07/2024 13:55

I wouldn’t even give it a thought! Sounds very superficial, who cares what you wear and what anyone else thinks?

mindutopia · 03/07/2024 13:56

I think it probably depends on the fit. It’s a perfectly fine casual dress for a hot day. It could fit quite short though (I realise you say 5’3 but it’s hard to know really how well it would fit from a random photo). The back is fine, but I wouldn’t want to see anyone’s bum cheeks.

DappledThings · 03/07/2024 13:57

Other than pyjamas anything goes.

Apileofballyhoo · 03/07/2024 13:58

Does he normally comment on what you're wearing?

ByCupidStunt · 03/07/2024 14:09

You'd get a few funny looks if you wore it to a catholic school but other schools should be ok.

YourWinter · 03/07/2024 14:11

Better than wearing pyjamas and/or fluffy slippers.

MonsteraMama · 03/07/2024 14:11

Is school pick up an event? Since when did it have a dress code?

You really wouldn’t…

Springwatch123 · 03/07/2024 14:17

Yes, especially on warm day (and I wish I had a figure that would suit it!).

You really wouldn't. Are you confusing Catholic schools with the 'covering knees and shoulders' dress code of the Vatican or something? And I don't think any schools get to impose a dresscode on dropping-off parents.
