OMG anyone else watching Shania Twain at Glasto?

She’s absolutely awful!

Her voice is harsh and rough, she’s out of tune and out of rhythm. Dreadful.

It's all so subjective. I'm trained in music to a reasonably good standard so can tell if somebody's out of tune but have a friend who will listen to the same thing and declare it to be "pitch perfect"

Céline Dion reportedly managed perfectly when her ear piece failed. There is someone with perfect pitch, and a true singer.

She is a particularly technically skilled singer, like Mariah Carey. Most mainstream singers, even very famous ones, haven't got that level of skill. (I'm leaving off theatrical singers.)

She was diabolical... Compared to how fantastic Cat Stevens was last year!! He was brilliant!!! Mum and I watched him at home. After seeing Bruce at Hyde Park CS was the highlight of my year!

I saw her in Glasgow a few years ago and she was great.

I feel like I'm watching the musical equivalent of Joe Biden.

She was such a recluse for such a long time as well. Even before the Lyme disease. When she was with the weirdo husband. Can't understand what is making her come and hawk herself around every festival this summer. Does she have money problems or is she having a last hurrah before retiring? Sort of a late mid-life crisis where she's trying to prove she still has it?

I was supposed to be seeing her at Stirling Summer Sessions but I cancelled when I realised it was "standing in a field" as opposed to something civilised! Can't say I'm sorry now tbh.

Did anyone read her book? Again, I was surprised by it. She's always seemed a private person but it had loads of details about losing her virginity, her husband cheating on her* and her stepdad touching her.

*page after page of how angry she was at her best friend/PA. She seemed to blame her much more than the husband.

Incredible is the word, ie not credible. You do know it's not real don't you...

Watching Shania now and it's making me really sad. I felt like this last week seeing Blondie too.

Shania has always been pretty IMO, and she looks OK still. But she doesn't look 'incredible.' She just looks reasonably good... As a few posters have said though, she does look somewhat different to the Shania of the 1990s. Basically, she looks like a nearly-60-year old woman who has had botox and fillers, and veneers on her teeth.

She is attractive, but she looks her age. As does EVERYONE - within 3-4 years.

Looks pretty incredible to me.

It's possible that she loves what she does, even if she's not doing it very well right now.

Because there simply isn’t time. If the acts start at midday then the headliner only could sound check in the morning if they want or need to.
everyone else builds their gear at the back of the stage and then rotates onto the stage during the break between bands. Then you get a quick line check to make sure it is all working and off you go.

She's 58 and looks like a stunning 45 year old. Whatever work she's had done is very subtle. And her hair is incredible!
