She’s absolutely awful!

Her voice is harsh and rough, she’s out of tune and out of rhythm. Dreadful.

More sound issues?
It's fecking awful might switch it off its that bad.

She looks awesome though!!

Cindy lauper should have had this slot tbh I know she's been criticised but she sounded a million times better than this

Ihaveahamster · 30/06/2024 16:30

Well somethings not right with her today. She’s murmuring some words as though she’s forgotten them. She honestly sounds drunk to me.

Portfun24 · 30/06/2024 16:30

Yeah we are quite shocked at how bad she is.

Justwingingit2005 · 30/06/2024 16:33

I don't think its her I think there are mic issues. She keeps messing about with her ear piece too.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 30/06/2024 16:33

Hmm she did seem to forget the words there and wave it off lol

RaraRachael · 30/06/2024 16:34

It will be put down to "sound issues"

Wasn't that blamed with Debbie Harry too?

Aye right

TwigletsAndRadishes · 30/06/2024 16:34

I was just saying to DH this morning, people rarely sound any good performing at live festivals, unless you are there in person. Watching it on TV or hearing it on the radio is a poor substitute and it's quite often awful. They played some of Cindi Lauper's set on R2 this morning at it was absolutely terrible. I changed station.

MaturingCheeseball · 30/06/2024 16:35

It’s giving Jemini vibes

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 30/06/2024 16:35

I remember axl rose was crucified was it last year? But then played another concert and sounded awesome

Bloody hell, well I didn't hear Shania but given what I've just said about CL then Shania must have been bad.

FunZebra · 30/06/2024 16:36

I turned off when I saw her appropriating the Mari Lwyd…….

AstonMartha · 30/06/2024 16:37

I don’t understand why she is there as the ‘legend’. She’s shit. She always has been.

Beebumble2 · 30/06/2024 16:37

Her backing band’s good, though.

I used to sing live a lot. If there's a problem with the monitors/ear piece and you can't hear yourself, it's extremely difficult to sing in tune. Try covering your ears and singing along to something.

I’m not a fan of shania to be honest and thought she was an odd choice of legacy artist. Looking at most of the crowd, they aren’t really singing along cos they won’t know most of her songs.

So what does the ear piece actually do?! Why can't she take it out and just sing her songs that she knows and has been singing for 27 years?

James were really good, and he's 64!

It allows you to hear yourself! Without it she won't be able to hear her own voice over the band and the crowd.

The only sets I've really thought sounded like they normally do were Paul Heaton and Keane.

Tbf she's improved now.........slightly

Appalonia · 30/06/2024 16:42

So they can't do sound checks at Glastonbury?

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy she needs the earpiece to work properly otherwise she can't hear the band etc properly to stay in time / tune etc.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 30/06/2024 16:42

She's definitely trailing off the last words of each sentence or something. It's strange!
