She’s absolutely awful!

Her voice is harsh and rough, she’s out of tune and out of rhythm. Dreadful.

WHAT??!!

LDNtiliDie · 30/06/2024 16:51

Her voice isn’t great now, but she’s doing OK. I think she looks amazing! And like she’s having a great time.

Agree with pp about the legend slot often being a bit of a letdown because the artist’s voice has deteriorated. Or sometimes because it’s an artist who never had a great voice to begin with and who just cannot make a live acoustic act on that scale work, without all the bells and whistles (thinking in years gone by Janet Jackson, who was shocking and Kylie who was appalling, although it was a fun performance.

Elton John was brilliant, though. I’m not especially a fan, but he got a new level of respect from me for his performance last year.

Willmafrockfit · 30/06/2024 16:51

she is ok, not brilliant, i never was a fan, i only know one tune i think, and that;s That dont impress me much, ironic!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 30/06/2024 16:52

It seems a lot better now

Not as bad as Dexys Midnight Runners yesterday, oh god.

She really doesn't look or sound like Shania Twain though.

Didn't watch it, but I was just listening to a beautiful, slow Dexys track on my headphones yesterday and thinking how fantastic KR's voice was. That confirms my view that almost no-one sounds any good when watching Glasto on the telly.

MartyFunkhouser · 30/06/2024 16:52

😱 we had to switch off, mostly through embarrassment.

I’ve never heard anything worse!

Willmafrockfit · 30/06/2024 16:53

keane sounded brilliant, what a voice! perhaps not a legend slot,

WhiteWriting · 30/06/2024 16:53

Surely that ballad was mimed? A complete voice uplift from before.

Isobel201 · 30/06/2024 16:53

Concerts make all singers sound worse than they really are, partly why I don't bother with them. But as mentioned above, she has had lyme disease which has affected her voice.

Saw here recently and she's amazing. Some of the stuff written on here is just awful

Why? It's true.

It's like watching Katie Price doing Shania Twain.

I agree - and now it's back to the slightly out of tune performance. How odd! Why would she only mime one song?

RaraRachael · 30/06/2024 16:55

I didn't even recognise her.

I think too many excuses are made for people these days.

I wouldn't find it acceptable to pay a lot of money to find somebody's was lip synching

100%

WhiteWriting · 30/06/2024 16:55

I guess because Still the One was her massive hit over here so can't afford to F that one up?

WhiteWriting · 30/06/2024 16:56

Also all the weird spinning and hair clutching - she looks like a woman on the edge.

Right let’s see how she does with ‘man I feel like a woman’

She’s reminiscent of a drunk old bird singing karaoke in my local. Actually feel sorry for her.

Not that sorry if you make such a scornful, contemptuous comment on a public site.

GellerYeller · 30/06/2024 16:57

@JaneJeffer @FailBetter YES! So good.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 30/06/2024 16:57

That's not true if they can actually sing. I saw Jalen Ngonda in concert a few weeks ago, and he actually sounded BETTER live as his voice is so soulful, like a cross between Marvin Gaye and Prince. He was playing Glastonbury at 12.30 but the BBC didn't show it unfortunately. Outstanding!

Theordinary · 30/06/2024 16:57

Her voice has warmed up a bit now. I'm not a huge fan but I'm still enjoying it and she looks like she is too. I'd like to see any of you lot strutting up and down and holding a tune at the age of 58! Miserable buggers. I think she's fab.
