A big problem today is that a lot of people get their news from ultra left wing organisations like the BBC and they become indoctrinated and they brand anyone different as a racist or facist.

The BBC is not ultra left wing.

You are well down the rabbit hole if you believe that.

And if you've fallen down that far down such a hole you're either stupid, weak minded or bigoted.

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 30/06/2024 11:15

YANBU but only because it will split the Tory vote.

Mummyratbag · 30/06/2024 11:15

It's depressing that people can't see this party for what it is.

Nigel is not on your side. He wasn't on your side when he promoted Brexit.

Look at the people around him and what they have been reported as saying this week. This is what the party attracts ..ask yourself why.

HideousKinky · 30/06/2024 11:16

ultra left wing organisations like the BBC

😂

MoodEnhancer · 30/06/2024 11:16

I wholly understand the desire to protest vote, in order to seek change. But I cannot understand using that protest vote to vote for a racist party. Surely no one is so lacking in analytical skills that you can’t hear the racist undertones of so much of what they say?

There are plenty of other parties to protest vote for. You need to understand what a protest vote for Reform says about what you or other Reform voters want - i.e. for a much further right wing party to be in charge. Maybe that is what you want and that is your choice. But don’t pretend that you don’t understand what it means about you and what you want the country to look like.

Snackpocket · 30/06/2024 11:18

nomoretoriesforme · 30/06/2024 11:03

Yes, tactically voting for Reform. This is the only way to change our political system.

I genuinely don’t understand this, what change is voting for reform going to make to our political system?

But Farage is racist and misogynistic. He openly said he admires Enoch Powell and Andrew Tate. Defended the use of the term Chinky. Told Breastfeeding women to "sit in the corner". Defended Trump's "Grab their pussy" comment. Lied about how rich he was. Pretends to be for the working man but is from a very privileged background and was a banker.

I can't believe people don't see through him. He is bright and articulate and has perfected the "telling it like it is."

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/06/2024 11:19

@Despair132 you do exactly what you describe happened. People who commit crimes should be arrested and appropriately punished.

HRTQueen · 30/06/2024 11:20

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/06/2024 11:05

@HRTQueen ahh yes, people who get their political news and views from TikTok, a notoriously well informed and thoughtful cohort.

well many of these might vote Green to as they to have really pushed on TikTok

it gets the message to more younger voters so all parties should really be using it

Im voting reform and dont give a toss what others think, voting is personal choice

RoseUnder · 30/06/2024 11:20

A vote for Reform is a vote for Putin.

Yes, tactically voting for Reform. This is the only way to change our political system.

Do you recognise that if it does in fact work, i.e. changes our political system, it will be seen as a desire to be far more right wing? Maybe that’s what you want, but it’s not as straightforward as simply “a vote for change.”

cardibach · 30/06/2024 11:23

Motomum23 · 30/06/2024 10:59

I find it really amusing that all those who are against reform have. Nothing to say about the paid actor pretending to be a racist reform candidate. Its election interference and highly illegal - nazism at its absolute finest (if anyone remembers the burning of the reischtag)

This actor who was campaigning for them months ago you mean? Incidentally nobody has provided any evidence (or even said…) that he was paid to say that. Just that he’s an actor (earns some money doing extra work I believe). Actors can be racist too.

AIBU to vote reform
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 30/06/2024 11:23

Underachievers are voting Reform because the privately educated ex-city trader man in the double-breasted blazer tells them that it’s everyone else’s fault, and points his finger at immigrants, gay and transgender people, muslims, black people, environmentalists. At the same time he creates a set of candy-store policies which appear - superficially to the easily-led - to “punish” these “enemies” and “get our country back”.

It’s only when you apply critical thinking that you see how those policies erode everybody’s rights and terminally ablate the very few remaining protections for working people in the UK.

And when you look deeper it becomes clear that those policies (and Brexit for that matter) actually benefit Russia more than the UK.

Reform is a very dangerous choice indeed.

Alwaystired94 · 30/06/2024 11:24

Despair132 · 30/06/2024 11:01

Right….. yep very dangerous… you keep believing what your told to believe.

imagine coming to a forum called MUMSnet and pretending a man with deep hatred towards women isn’t a danger to women.

and that man also is being investigated for trafficking women.

vote reform if you like but at least don’t pretend you’re anything other than a misogynist. your comments have proved that.

Beefandwine · 30/06/2024 11:26

Read their manifesto and vote for them if you want to see those policies enacted.

I am voting for them, as is all of my family and my neighbours, and no we're not all racist. Wanting to secure your borders is not racist, no matter what left leaning liberals say. The immigration policy is not the only reason why I'm voting for them, I've read their manifesto.

HelloCheekyCat · 30/06/2024 11:26

haveatye · 30/06/2024 10:23

That's like saying I'm sick of pasta and potatoes, I'm going to rub my face in shit instead

I think I love you 😍

YABU to even ask. No-one cares! 🙄

blacksax · 30/06/2024 11:27

Despair132 · 30/06/2024 10:29

Not at all, everyone I know is voting reform. Don’t believe everything you read obviously there is a force to stop people voting for change.

Perhaps you need to get to know intelligent people instead then, because everyone you know is clearly several sandwiches short of a picnic.

OatFlatWhiteForMe · 30/06/2024 11:08

My husband and I pay higher rate tax, we would be happy to pay a bit more to improve essential services.

I am a human, I assume you are too. What gives us more right to basic human rights than any other human being? If we were in the throws of war I would want another country to offer us safe passage as a family, this includes my son who would be classed as a ‘single man’.

We need jobs, not more privatisation. We need a living wage as standard. We need better state education, the NHS off its knees and child poverty eradicated. I know this cost money but I also know we have money. Tax the wealthy, close non dom loopholes and ensure corporations doing business in the UK are paying tax too.

The problem is that in order to get to the UK the migrants, and many of them are economic migrants, have travelled through many safe countries, so they don't need to risk their lives or their children's and make the journey across the channel. The only people who benefit are the traffickers.

Uncontrolled immigration has been happening for years, it got worse under Tony Blair's Labour with his open door policy. I always repeat this on here but remember the protests by British tradesmen because they couldn't find work? Remember Gordon Brown's promise of British jobs for British workers which didn't happen. Free movement only works between countries if they have similar economies, when you get poorer countries like Romania and Poland it's obvious that their workers will migrate to the countries with better wages. But it puts a strain on housing, schools, health services etc.

When people in the UK tried to express their concern they were shut down by being branded racist or a bigot. This is what led to Brexit. You only have to look at the insults on this thread to see that it's still happening. People don't want to discuss anything and that is when it becomes dangerous.

Oh please, the BBC are not 'ultra left wing'. The problem is gullible people swallow nonsense like that, and are immoral enough to consider voting for racists.

Jetstream · 30/06/2024 11:28

Clickbait?
No-one in their right minds spend 1second thinking about Reform UK ltd. formerly UKIP and BNP and not a startup.
