Haven't you just plopped into FWR as the mother of a trans-identified son you now refer to as 'she's? And you can't see the conflict between single sex spaces and 'trans rights'?
Shocked Pikachu face right here 🙄

The didn't say they were a mother, I don't think? And the way they refer to women screeching and screaming about their rights seems very misogynistic.

greengreyblue · 01/07/2024 22:06

What if a man transitions to a ‘woman’ and has the operation to alter their genitals and remove the penis, take female hormones and live as a woman because they have always felt that way? You wouldn’t know that in a changing room. I don’t look at anyone else in an open changing room.

So, they'd be a man who has had his penis removed, probably has fake breasts and who takes some synthetic hormones. Still a man. Still needs to be in the male spaces. Because - male.

You mean, a man?

Yes, it’s always noticeable.

No, he shouldn’t be in there.

greengreyblue · 01/07/2024 22:11

wouldn’t change biological facts

greengreyblue · 01/07/2024 22:18

But it doesn’t mean they are a threat. Some horrible views in this thread . Some people really suffer with anxiety, depression and gender dysphoria and quietly gi about their new life. Some posters seem to think all trans women are rapists and abusers. Horrible attitude..

Then I would have the discussion with him that whilst I would love him, never turn my back on him but I would never consider him a female, a woman or use false pronouns. He would always be my son, never my daughter because it's absolutely impossible.

If you want to vote Tory that’s your business but implying that all transwomen are violent criminals because some are is not the powerful argument you seem to think it is. Some men, some women, some people of all nationalities, creeds and colour are dangerous criminals. Are we going to deny everyone their basic human rights on this basis?

Oh for crying out loud.

  1. I didn't say I was voting Tory
  2. I didn't say, nor imply, that "all transwomen are violent criminals because some are"
  3. "Some men, some women, some people of all nationalities, creeds and colour are dangerous criminals. " Yes, and FAR MORE MEN THAN WOMEN ARE DANGEROUS CRIMINALS. WE ALL KNOW THIS! And the offending pattern of transwomen follows that of men, not women.
  4. "Basic human rights" do not include the right to use single-sex spaces of the opposite sex.

Are you clear now?

greengreyblue · 01/07/2024 22:20

@protectoroftherealm what a horrible mother you would be!

Tories, Indie school parent.

Same and same

MidnightMeltdown · 01/07/2024 22:22

Voting Green

Don't like Tories, Lib Dem or Labour.

Got to be honest, I've not looked at the Reform manifesto

Nasty comment.

She'd be parenting based in reality. Its generally good thing to live in reality, more people should try it

And some women have the most unimaginable trauma caused by men and would find any male in their space scary or triggering, regardless of how they presented. It doesn't mean that they're a threat, the fear response is still real.

Why would anyone want to walk into a space and cause that?

DoreenonTill8 · 01/07/2024 22:25

3DayStockpiler · 01/07/2024 18:20

Women aren't a tiny group though?

But they're inconsequential remember, we're nothing compared to the vaulted ones.

They're not 'going quietly about their new life' really though are they? Unless they're asking the females whose spaces their encroaching on how they feel?

You seem transfixed on this belief that we find these men a 'threat' and that's our only issue. Let's say your daughter is the best female runner in the world, she has spent her entire life training, sacrificing and giving her all to become the best athlete to ever win the gold medal. But she doesn't, not because another motivated female runner pips her to the post but because a mediocre male runner 'transitions', using his male muscle mass, his male stamina, his male strength to beat her. But it's okay because he's no 'threat' to her. Is that fair?

Your daughter goes out one night and is violently gang raped by a group of males - she makes the brave decision to report it and will undergo a series of invasive, internal examinations. She's now, in that moment, frightened to death of men and requests the examiner to be a woman. But oh no, in walks the 'female' nurse, who is clearly not female but identifies as such and there is nothing your daughter can do about it. So, in her panic, she refuses her examination, retracts her statements and her rapists walk free. Is that okay?

It's not just about us being able to piss in our own toilets, the more we give away the more they will take.

It doesn't matter if there are a minority of these men in women's spaces, if even just ONE removes the dignity of a woman, the chances of a woman, the right to a female space from a woman then it is one too many.

LostTheMarble · 01/07/2024 22:32

I’ll be voting Conservative. It’s a protest vote, not one I want to make. Labour have cemented their views on women’s rights in the worst way, their manifesto is either unrealistic or straight up guff. The Tories are arseholes but at least it’s ’devil you know’ arseholes. Feels awful going against my long held values, but since Labour are doing that for me anyway might as well go the full swing.

Do you know what Tories have done to women over the last 14 years?

I despair honestly. A vote for the Tories is not a vote for women’s rights.

LostTheMarble · 01/07/2024 22:35

Oh, and I don’t want a party in power who will make it easier for medical eugenics to take advantage of my autistic children struggling with puberty. Because I am a good mother, not a ‘be kind’ fantasist @greengreyblue

The Tories won’t get in. Not in my area anyway. As I said, it’s a protest vote - if there was any other half decent option in my area I’d vote for them. I’m aware of all the things the Tories have done, my mind is made up.

InALabourStronghold · 01/07/2024 19:04

@cardibach
I thin’ you are worrying about nothing. You’ve decided to fret about something there’s zero indication he’s even thinking of.
Are we speaking at cross purposes? Are you alluding to the Labour Party raising taxes? I’ve told you I’m concerned about how additional money will be levied but worrying about Starmer’s stance on single sex rights.
Challenge accepted. Triple lock introduced by Conservatives and Lib Dems in 2010, raising of personal allowance, a period without stamp duty which facilitated a younger generation to get on the housing ladder, 30 hours free child care (though I grant you the loss of Sure Start is reprehensible).
Over to you. Using facts, not opinions, convince me why I should join my fellow constituents and vote Labour.

Funnily enough I don’t remember the points of everyone I discuss with. You were fretting about him coming after pensioners because they aren’t ’working people’ I think. Not sure what the rest has to do with what we were discussing really.
Anyway, vote for whoever gets or keeps the Tories out because they are lying, cheating, law breaking incompetents with contempt for everyone other than their friends and family. We know this from their actions.

I don’t know the answer to your question to this poster but, were it my son, hell, of course I would defend him.

Wouldn’t (shouldn’t) we all put our loved ones above strangers?
