What on earth is going on outside the university where the live debate is taking place? Sounds pretty crazy!

I think the "Fully costed" is important though, as Rishi keeps saying labour are unclear on where the money is coming - the costings are set out in the manifesto.

But not if the IFS says there’s a conspiracy of silence over tax rises and spending cuts

I don’t think the numbers stack up

I think rishi has just got my vote, I agree women need protected spaces, I am in agreement we need to be understanding and caring towards anyone making a transition but women deserve spaces they don't feel intimated in

Women are way more risk of assault in their own homes than in public spaces tbh and we have unsafe policing levels under this government, and a benefits system that grinds women into such poverty that leaving when your husband is the main earner is almost impossible. Women and children are living in unsafe housing environments full of mould, often temporary housing. Women and children are unsafe sitting on waiting lists for years, or waiting hours or days (!) in A&E waiting rooms under the Tory government.

The Tories do not care about the safety of women and children,

Couldn’t agree more.

Why did they stop Help to Buy then?

Why did they stop Help to Buy then?

Exactly! and they have had 14 years to abolish stamp duty!

Hedgeoffressian · 26/06/2024 21:30

I’m not voting for Labour because I don’t agree with taxing pensioners who are already struggling to get by with higher food and utility bills. And I think women have a right to feel safe in public spaces. Why should that safety net be removed for the sake of not offending a minority.

MeinKraft · 26/06/2024 21:30

Let's see if Rishi still loves the UK on 5th July, or if he will in fact be on the next private jet off to California to live the high life out there.

Absolutely this.
Anyone thinking of voting Tory must be prepared to accept more of the shit show we’ve been living through. A vote for Tory is basically saying that the electorate is fine with the sleaze, the cronyism and the sheer bloody incompetence.

Labour haven't got plans to remove single sex spaces...

But you’re ok with disabled people and people in low-paid jobs being thrown under a bus?

tiggergoesbounce · 26/06/2024 21:31

I'm glad that labour have reiterated they will protect women only space.
I also like the point of leading by dividing- it will be interesting when labour get in, how they try to repair years of playing people off against each other.

Rishi talking about being honest - joke.

If Labour get in I’m willing to bet a lot of people would jump on the next jet to California if they could afford it.

I completely agree with this, it's difficult to decide who's part of which is more important for the nhs, women and children. I want to make the right decision to protect my future as a women, financially and in regards to safety. But with an ill mom who claims benefits with no other option, she's worked her whole life till a nasty car crash, I'm struggling to decide

voiceofastar · 26/06/2024 21:32

It’s all Sunak’s got isn’t it, ‘cut taxes’.

Poolstream · 26/06/2024 21:35

I wouldn’t want either of them as pm tbh.
However Starmer has come out with some absolute tosh tonight.

Saying that lowering NI reduces pensions and NHS funding is rubbish, NI and tax all go into one pot.
And getting a better deal with Europe absolutely will mean compromise on Freedom of Movement, Macron for one has stated that.
And people are not born with a gender, it’s sex!

Never voted conservative in my life, never will but I wouldn’t vote labour either.

Next one when he tells us his dad was a toolmaker

Was his dad a toolmaker? He never said🤣

Actually it was Richie’s government who introduced the largest ever cash increase to the minimum wage. Neither party have gone out of their way to help disabled people in their manifestos. However the conservatives have pledged to crack down on fraud and tighten up the assessment process which helps ensure there is enough funding for genuine claimants.

Byronada · 26/06/2024 21:37

Pointless protest. What can govt do realistically. Advise the war stops to the Israeli govt. That's about it.

Maybe stop supplying arms to Israel??

No it will be a brain drain. I expect a lot of businesses and high earners will do a runner.

Moonmelodies · 26/06/2024 21:39

If you're concerned about NHS waiting lists the last thing you should do is vote Labour. NHS Wales has over 30,000 people who have been waiting over two years for treatment, under their Labour administration. Yet plenty of money to hire 'Directors of Lived Experience' and no shortage of fancy rainbow flags.
