There’s still a week before bin collection and this is the state of my neighbours.

This isn’t a one off. It’s constantly like this. Both normal and recycling. Sick of living near tramps that don’t care.

To find this disgusting?

Wait - people are getting their bins emptied fortnightly? Ours is once a month and the struggle is real!

Never mind the bin situation the way you come across on this thread is disgusting. Calling people tramps because they have a different amount of waste to you or maybe don’t compact their waste like they could to utilise the bin space.

That doesn’t make them any less of a person. Why don’t you take you frankly shit photo and report the neighbour to the council if your that upset….or better yet grow a backbone and speak to them directly instead of slagging them off on an anonymous forum.

Arnt you the lucky one.... we have 2 weekly collections here. You should really get a hobby. Trolling the neightbours using your cctv is pretty sad tbh....

We're not allowed second bins either by the way... the council regularly go around confiscating 2nd bins. They did it 2 weeks ago, they took the tidy neighbours 2nd illegal bin over the road. They then decided to come and steal mine!!!! They had a lovely tidy garden though!

Leaving a large family with no general waste bin and having to pay for another themselves to keep their own garden nice! They also don't recycle, I know because when I marched over to retrieve my bin back there was no recycling bags in sight, so who's the real tramps? Me with my messy recycle filled garden or them for being thieves?

This family your trolling has a full bin not a mountain of waste in the garden so consider yourself lucky!

LanaL · 26/06/2024 20:04

Where else should they put their rubbish ? It’s in the bin ! People can’t help it if they have a lot of rubbish , I also have a lot and sometimes - especially if I have a clear out - my recycling or bin is full early.

LanaL · 26/06/2024 20:05

I’m really shocked that they you have called them tramps for putting rubbish in a bin and I actually think it’s quite nasty .

RogueFemale · 26/06/2024 20:05

@whereisshadow I'm on your side, YANBU. Wheelie bins are already a blight without overflowing ones. However, if that's the worst your neighbours do, then really consider yourself lucky. My neighbour is a prize cunt and I'd be over the moon if he moved out and I got your neighbour with the overflowing bin instead - my dream neighbour.

BobbyBiscuits · 26/06/2024 20:09

It's a full bin. Why are they tramps bc they bought something that comes in packaging?
Why not pull out the contents and start scrutinising that, is some if it...clutches pearls..alcohol!?
Honestly you sound horribly judgemental and very very bored. If that's the worst your neighbours are doing you should really chill out.

plimbow · 26/06/2024 20:13

Heatwave here in the south east, maggots galore for the poor bin men.

They deserve medals.

Needmorelego · 26/06/2024 20:14

@Beekeepingmum not really. Where I live some of the Victorian houses are split into 2 or 3 flats - which sometimes sell for £500 thousand or so.
But because it's a Victorian house there's little outside place for bins - especially if it's 3 lots of bins because it's 3 flats.
So you can be a "nice middle class family" but you still have a terrible rubbish collection system.

Agapornis · 26/06/2024 20:19

Some councils allow you to report dirty front gardens, does yours? My former neighbour was similar (didn't have wheelie bins so even worse - lots of food, too) and someone came round to tell them to clean it within 2 weeks.

socks1107 · 26/06/2024 20:20

Yanbu the boxes could be broken down and put in properly. They could also go to the tip, sometimes we have to do this.
One bit of wind, foxes etc it'll be all over the street

fungipie · 26/06/2024 20:20

Needmorelego · 26/06/2024 17:17

What are they meant to do with their rubbish if the bins provided aren't big enough?
You should be angry at your council - not your neighbours.

no wonder the bin is not big enough if they can't be bothered to flatten boxes. It just takes seconds to do.

Bignanna · 26/06/2024 20:20

Despair1 · 26/06/2024 19:29

Hi OP, I don't like the reference to people 'living like tramps'; very derogatory term. 'Tramps' are predominantly people who are without a home and live outside; a nightmare scenario.BW

You don’t like the reference to tramps? So you’re insulting people who, through no fault of their own have ended up homeless?

AlanBrendaCelia · 26/06/2024 20:22

greencartbluecart · 26/06/2024 17:27

It doesn't look like they squashed stuff down and the slightest wind will have litter over the street

I know our council will provide a larger bin on request

We would just let our neighbour know they can use ours which is rarely full

Our council will give you a bigger/extra recycling bin, but not a bigger general waste bin. In fact, if for any reason your 240 litre general waste bin needs to be replaced, you will only get a smaller, 180 litre bin. They don’t do the 240 litre bins any more.

Needmorelego · 26/06/2024 20:23

@fungipie the box could be crammed full of other boxes 🤔

ForFirmBiscuit · 26/06/2024 20:24

I am in a similar situation with my bins, they collect them every 3 or 4 weeks? I am agoraphobic, don’t yet have a car, and can’t get to the dump or buy things in person, meaning a lot of cardboard from Amazon Et cetera

Flossflower · 26/06/2024 20:29

plimbow · 26/06/2024 18:55

My neighbours are the same, no pride in their bins. They nicked my lovely clean Bin Buddied bin, took my number stickers off and replaced it with their filthy, maggoty bin.

I knicked it back and painted my number on, inside and out, just in case.

Bin louts, the lot of 'em.

It is also a good idea to put your number on the bottom too if people are changing numbers.

well they probably have a car and take extra stuff to dump on the way to work, school, shopping, etc. We do, quite regularly. But mainly, we make sure anything that goes in is properly compacted, We are also lucky to have a couple of compost bins in the back garden, but yes, am aware this is not always possible.

Frenzi · 26/06/2024 20:38

Maybe your complaint should be to the council or your MP stating that whilst you (and your neighbour) are year on year paying more council tax your waste collection is being cut to fortnightly.

Its not your neighbours fault if the council cut costs.

It wont be long until we are like much of Europe where we have to take our rubbish to a central spot per neighbourhood to be collected as the council wont be able to afford collections per street

fungipie · 26/06/2024 20:38

Allfur · 26/06/2024 17:22

Recycle more so less goes in the landfill bin

and buy less packaging in the first place

Despair1 · 26/06/2024 20:43

Bignanna · 26/06/2024 20:20

Not at all. On the contrary, I was advocating for the vulnerability of homelessness and homeless people being referred to as 'tramps'. I know people who have been street homeless and have also worked in homeless shelters'' There but the grace of God go I'

Topofthemountain · 26/06/2024 21:05

amusedbush · 26/06/2024 19:15

I can only dream of fortnightly collections! Our bins are emptied every three weeks and it’s a nightmare 😩

Really don't tell them that, they would explode.

Do you get food collections? My sister is on three weeks but food waste is more regular. We don't get that yet.

I'm sure on a past thread one poster had their recycling collected once a month.

Crumpleton · 26/06/2024 21:05

Blouson · 26/06/2024 18:20

Is that a bumper golden wonder box? They could at least have squashed it, feckless idiots.

I buy my crisps in bulk that are also in a cardboard box, then the box is used as my paper/cardboard recycling bin and goes out every 6/8 weeks

Bin men are happy with it as they just grab and chuck it in the back of the lorry.

gamerchick · 26/06/2024 21:07

Pretty normal sight here. Binmen have been striking on and off since Christmas. It's fun
