Filthy food habit… and what’s yours?

Not talking Biscoff straight from the jar here… its so low-level I’m compelled to post (with NC) so to expose the guilt/be shamed out of it.

Maggi noodles eaten dry, from the packet, with the seasoning sprinkled into them. Preferably chow mein flavour. But eaten in bed. Last night the flavouring went on my sheets which may or may not have been a turning point.

What’s your secret filthy food habit?

Many of these I've either eaten or potentially could eat.
However, try scooping clotted cream onto a shortbread finger, I once ate a whole tub of cream like that, bloody lovely!

HildaOgdensMurielle · 28/06/2024 22:47

I just remembered I also tuck smarties between my boobs to get them to the perfect amount of meltyness (also has the advantage of taking an age to eat a reasonable portion rather than my other method of pouring the tube straight into my mouth).

A spinach sandwich, without bread. Fresh spinach leaves with a thin slice of cheddar cheese in the centre, bliss !

White thick sliced warburtons, lashings of country life spread and 2 tubs of cress.

my daughters is dry pasta!

The cress thing sounds amazing. I'd never realised you could have 2 tubs of cress in one go. I thought the law was a few snips at a time.

I bet it would be nicer with really gourmet salted butter.

A meat and potato pie or pasty on a bread roll/barm cake is known as a Wigan kebab.
I feel "reet bye gum" Northern having written this !
And there's corned beef hash, known in Wigan as "Lobbies" (with a shortcrust pastry lid)

potplantsinparadise · 28/06/2024 23:32

Spicy pot noodle with mayonnaise stirred into it :)

Mademetoxic · 28/06/2024 23:37

Cheap supermarket chocolate melted and cornflakes added to the chocolate. Basically chocolate crispy cake mix but not put in the fridge to mould. Just eat it in the bowl. Yum.

Oh, that sounds great!
Like the chocolate cornflake cakes many of us made as a kid.

If you like Wotsits with yoghurt, try Wotsits with cottage cheese. You'll never look back. Ever.

See also Twiglets dunked in Philadelphia. The combination of creamy, crunchy and salty is just perfection.

I have definitely buttered wotsits in a previous life. Not done it for years

Marks and Spencers used to make a crunchy chocolate cornflake uhhh cake!? It was cut into slices like a pizza. Flat. Delicious.

Salty McDonald's fries x3 dipped into strawberry milkshake.

Don't forget the pea wet!

Now and then when I really CBA to cook, dh and I will have a Fray Bentos tinned pie each, just with frozen peas.

Which reminds me, we used the last two a while ago, must replace.

zingally · 29/06/2024 11:13

Pre-made thin pancakes from the dessert section, heated up in the microwave and smothered with tomato ketchup!

Love a Fray Bentos! I'm a steak and kidney girl all the way.

I bought one in my food shop today!

With complete predictability threads like this contain really funny “naughty” habits, like tucking smarties between boobs (!) and waiting for your crisps to go stale (!!??), and then some perfectly normal things presented as “terribly naughty” by the disordered eaters of MN, eg “sometimes.. I eat a sandwich!!”. So boring.

WhySoManySocks · 29/06/2024 11:26

I dip salted peanuts in more salt.

Please tell me it’s the tube and not individual smarties…

Nope, individual smarties 😁

CoffeeCantata · 29/06/2024 14:21

MIne is utterly shameful, OP. I cannot be trusted with a pot of Nutella in the house, so it's only there if someone else buys it. If I find it (I beg them to hide it) I get a teaspoon and I just eat the lot.

I'm aware it's largely sugar and that chocolate and hazelnuts are only nominally there, but I just cannot resist it.

@CoffeeCantata 😂 spooning Nutella is about the least shameful thing on this thread. Go for it!

This reminds me of a dear, late friend who loved a Fray Bentos pie. She was convinced that it had its own emoji - until I pointed out that it was for a bento box. She still sent me that emoji when she'd had a Fray Bentos pie though. 🤣 🍱

Oh well ...
Packets and packets of Extra strong mints, to the point of replacing meals.
Not overweight and not diabetic, but aware it's bonkers.
😬

That was my pregnancy craving many years ago!

StuckHurtDone · 04/07/2024 17:04

Cheerios and hot custard!! Not too much custard just enough to cover them so they go melty and stringy. Wish I had some custard now so I can eat it for dinner

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/07/2024 17:43

Heinz Sandwich Spread. Every now and then I buy a jar and make a complete pig of myself - with the sliced white bread we never have otherwise.

Occasionally I do ditto with Dairylea cheese spread - which goes back to so rarely having it as a child, when at a GM’s house for tea. My DM would never buy it.
