I dont know if I'm being silly but I have tried everything to get tickets, live close to london and willing to travel. Didn't even get on the wait list... Just heartbreaking as my daughter literally learnt to play the guitar (self taught) has every album and the infamous cardigan, t shirts ets. Just gutted as all we ever listen to in the blooming car is TS. It would have been awesome lifetime memories /core memory. Sad.

My estimations of her have seriously went down because of the way this whole ticket fiasco has been handled, both the cost of tickets and the access to them or lack of access

And you can’t say she didn’t have final say on this. She is very shrewd and I am sure is involved in all aspects of this tour

Even her bestie Ed Sheeran campaigns against ticket touts reselling for hundreds over face value and also against dynamic pricing. There are easy ways to stop both but why would she when she is taking in over £200million in ticket sales alone for just the London dates

Plus the whole anyone from any country can buy them if they have a code and having to have a code at all has been very eye opening for the whole industry. My BIL works in the music entertainment industry in a legal capacity and says there will be case studies about this tour, good and bad, for decades to come

We have taken our children to so many concerts over the years. Springsteen, Take That, Robbie Williams, Foo Fighters to name a few and we’re going to see Pink for the 8th time next week. We’re massive Springsteen fans and we have travelled world wide to see him.

Our children have basically grown up with Taylor Swift just like we did with Springsteen. What I don’t understand is true Swift fans pre order anything artists like her release so why didn’t you pre order her Midnight album? You’d have got codes if you’d pre ordered and got the pre ticket sales. We follow so many bands we love we always know about pre orders and pre ticket sales. The amount of moaning and bitching about not getting tickets is mind boggling. If you truly love an artist you’d know about the pre ticket sales.

Theres been a lot of hype about Taylor Swift and I do think it a case of “oh Jemima is going so my child needs to go” It’s a bit like keeping up with the Joneses in some cases.

I actually did pre order Midnights. Omg. I did. Id forgotten. I have never been to a concert or boughts tickets to one before so did not realise that. Could i still use the code? Where is the code on the album? We are not all familiar with this type of thing. I just assumed you go online and buy tickets. Its so bloody complicated.

Take them to a different gig - go and see lots of live music with different artists who aren’t charging £800 a ticket. Take them to festivals with tons of artists and where it’s an experience they will remember!

DD went to the Liverpool concert. Her ticket was about £120 seated.
The people charging £800 are the resellers 😠

Fuck me. This is a person that you will never know. Never interact with. Or have anything to do with. What a waste of money and mind.

God you don't have a clue!!!

My daughters are diehard fans, and have been for about 13 years. I can take or leave her but they follow her every move - they're both graduates in their mid/late 20s so not stupid or gullible!! They first saw TS live in 2011 at her only concert in Belfast. There were 5 rows in front of us, then a gap, then row 6. During the concert I noticed a security guard start to put up a thick rope between the two rows, and I shoved my girls forward to the rope. TS came down into the crowd, touched one DD's hand and briefly held the other. They thought they had died and gone to heaven!!

Well one DD was in Spain and the other at home when the tickets went on sale for Eras. It was a dedicated exercise. Not sure about DD1 but DD2 had 2 laptops and a phone going, TS CDs and positive crystals at hand - I was pissing myself laughing!! But she got tickets for all three nights in Dublin, only they sold the Friday night ones to a friend of a friend for face value. Now that's dedication!!

Pethaps YANBU feeling sad, as you do really want to go, but equally you need to put some perspective on this. There are loads of ways to make cool and lasting memories, don't buy into the hype of this whole thing. There's also loads of folk going and then posting about mega come downs as well, far too much emphasis on one event. Nothing wrong with enjoying music but some folk are definitely going OTT.

Caterpillarshoes · 22/06/2024 06:16

Whats a core memory?

I don't understand it at all as I'm not a fan and I'm fed up test even radio 4 is giving this a lot of airtime but I do see its disappointing if it does mean a lot to you. Keep trying for tickets, if not use it as a learning experience that things don't always happen.

Foxesandsquirrels · 21/06/2024 16:54

Gosh this is all a bit much. I don't believe she's suddenly got this many fans. Last time she was on tour she was so unpopular her PR were handing out tickets to companies in London. I took DD to Wembley to see her for free and got amazing seats. A lot of the stadium was still empty!

You'd better believe it

CruCru · 22/06/2024 07:23

It's all those meanies buying em up who don't really want them

I dunno. I know a child who has tickets (which cost loads) who is cross that another child also has (very expensive) tickets because she doesn’t think the other child is a big enough fan to deserve to go. Who are any of us to decide who really wants the tickets?

I am firmly middle aged and remember getting concert tickets for my birthday. There’s no way I’d have had Taylor Swift tickets - no matter how much of a fan I was, they would have just been too expensive.

HandsDown84 · 22/06/2024 07:25

I wish people would stop making out that entering what was basically a ballot for access to tickets was invented by mean old Taylor Swift. In football, Liverpool and Arsenal do this every season, among others. You have to buy a membership to even enter which is more expensive than an album.

PeloMom · 22/06/2024 07:26

It’s a gig. Likely there’ll be more (TS is young so..). There are many ways to make ‘core’ memories

Snooglequack · 22/06/2024 07:27

I have something that will make a better 'core memory'. You dressed in a leotard, wig, guitar, meeting her at the school gates belting out "I knew you were trouble". She will never forget that.

Or forgive it.

That sounds like it could be the dark origin story of some of the naysayers on this thread saying concerts are a waste of time and money, tbh.

That ships long since sailed. You had to register the code on the album about a year ago. After the closing date you then got a code or were put on the waiting list. Even with a code it didn't guarantee tickets

PopcornFiend · 22/06/2024 11:42

There’s tickets available for todays London show, right now on twickets

@Sankhomumof3

If you pre ordered the album through the TS store you should have had a code sent to you. - I ordered before the code thing was announced and still got the email.

Unless you preordered elsewhere.

StMarieforme · 22/06/2024 16:10

Heartbreaking is OTT. Please get some context.

It really is. I asked for a pony for Chris every year. Never got one. Somehow managed to survive.

Yes pre ordered elsewhere. But you live and learn. I'm not a concert going person and have never been to one, so all this is new. But lesson learned. Plus I find it wierd that you have to take time off work /life to sit by your phone refreshing your screen only to be given 90s seconds to decide if you can make it to or afford tickets. But this one I do want to go to, so I'll try tomorrow as I'm on a night shift so can try during the day. Fml such a hassle. Anyone who gets tickets has truly earned them..!! UPDATE... I have signed up, got a code that lasts until tomorrow. If they send me any options (that I can afford) we'll go. Its all I can do. Thanks all. Especially the helpful and positive ones. Even the ones berating me for being a nonce about it... Somtimes we all phrase things dramatically and want a specific fun thing... This is mine. Haha. I promise I have normal perspective on things in general. 😂❤️
