I dont know if I'm being silly but I have tried everything to get tickets, live close to london and willing to travel. Didn't even get on the wait list... Just heartbreaking as my daughter literally learnt to play the guitar (self taught) has every album and the infamous cardigan, t shirts ets. Just gutted as all we ever listen to in the blooming car is TS. It would have been awesome lifetime memories /core memory. Sad.

VIP tickets were up to around £800 per person, depending upon the package you bought. Most people paid a lot less.

Please only get resale tickets through safe sites like Twickets, Ticketmaster and AXS. Don't buy from individuals offering them for sale, unless you know & trust them. Never buy from FB or strangers on MN.

As for all this making memories crap, Taylor is huge this year due to all the hype. Next year they will all be desperate to see someone else. I did go in 2018 though & she was great. Tomorrow I'm at the Foo Fighters instead.

TrixieFatell · 21/06/2024 18:41

YANBU to be disappointed. We are massive music fans in this house and some of our happiest memories are gigs we have been too. We usually go to smaller gigs but I've done a few stadiums and festivals. I love live music and taking my daughter's to see bands they love has been one of the best parts of parenting. I hope you manage to find some reasonably priced ones soon.

housemaus · 21/06/2024 18:43

YANBU - but as PPs have said, keep checking Ticketmaster and AXS for the August dates as they do keep appearing, and set up Twickets alerts!

Ghostgirl77 · 21/06/2024 18:44

YANBU to feel disappointed but it’s just a concert, hardly the end of the world. If your child is warm, fed, healthy and well loved then her “core memories” should be fine.

RabbitsRock · 21/06/2024 18:46

£58 is brilliant! We paid £140 for DD’s seat at Cardiff

I just had to look it up - apparently it's a fictional concept from the Pixar movie Inside Out.

OP, I wouldn't worry about 'core memories' too much - my (now adult) DC can barely recall any of the once-in-a-lifetime moments I worked hard to engineer for them, but instead fondly remember all sorts of silly little things that randomly happened over the years.

This, they're really not missing out on a life altering event here, it's a music concert.

I was a screaming, lunatic, frothing at the mouth Spice Girls fan in the 90's, my mum took us to see them live in Wembley thinking this is one of those once in a lifetime things I'll remember forever or a "core memory". Do you know what I remember about it? The cracking chips we got on the way home. I remember nothing about the gig itself.

Fuck me. This is a person that you will never know. Never interact with. Or have anything to do with. What a waste of money and mind.

adviceneeded1990 · 21/06/2024 18:51

Keep looking, lots being released last min. DSD and I got ours on Thursday for the Saturday at Edinburgh, paid face value.

It's all those meanies buying em up who don't really want them

A friend of mine her daughter got tickets for 3 different venues in uk and Ireland . She obv can afford it...between the travel hotels and the tickets but makes me a bit mad for those that didn't get tickets at all.

I'm feeling the same way about Coldplay. Didn't get tickets for them but did for TS so i can't complain too much.

You're a real jolly person aren't you?

bananasstink · 21/06/2024 19:23

I would have loved to go but not at that price and none of my girls are fans! Going to see Kings of Leon on Sunday though! Yay

Transportation · 21/06/2024 19:29

Try stubhub the day before the show. They are on there. DD had one for £350

I am. Far jollier for not wasting my mind on this fucking bollocks.

Givemegoldensun · 21/06/2024 19:31

If the biggest worry in your working/middle class life is being unable to buy Taylor Swift tickets then i wish that was my stress…

Fulshaw · 21/06/2024 19:33

Do you need a code for axs and twickets or just for Ticketmaster?

Oh give it a rest. Most people of average intelligence are capable of worrying about several things at once. In fact, a minor worry like Swift tickets could be a useful distraction from something major.

You don't need to try and turn everything into privilege wars.

I suggest a valium sandwich....you seem....uptight! 🤔

Givemegoldensun · 21/06/2024 20:16

I am perfectly ‘privileged’. Nothing to do with privilege or class. Everything to do with not jumping on an over hyped wagon

needsomewarmsunshine · 21/06/2024 20:24

The hype round this tour so similar to the must have toy at christmas. Parents were going mad and paying stupid prices for cabbage patch dolls and teletubbies back in the day. Both were like gold dust, go into any charity shop a few months later and there they were.
Swifties will calm down when the next boy band or big thing comes along. They always do.

Kitkat1523 · 21/06/2024 20:28

Another year, it will all be forgotten

Oh no, they won't. I don't think you appreciate how hardcore Swifties are. It isn't just young girls who are her fans, it's their mothers as well. Your toy analogy is off because the parents who bought the toys weren't interested in the toys themselves, whereas these parents are often diehard fans as well. Her music isn't really my thing, but I do respect just what a LONG career Taylor has had. She is only in her mid thirties but she has an immense and obsessive fanbase and has had for a long time. She isn't some hot new thing, she has serious longevity.

Yes.

So, do you never go to concerts because you don't know the artists personally? What about buying a painting? Should I not covet a Lucian Freud because I didn't know him personally? I don't get your reasoning at all.
